Tina's P.O.V

Newt and I apperate back to his parents house and we land back on the gravel driveway. Newt's eyes have seemed to lose their usual spark and he hasn't said anything for a while. I know him seeing his brother like that is eating at him. We walk in silence and enter the house, It is surprisingly quite so I assume that everyone must be out side but I call, "Jacob, Nagini!" This startles Newt and he jumps but doesn't say anything. Just to bring the light back into his eyes I ask a very daring question, "Newt I know it's kinda a bad time but I was thinking that we should go to dinner together tonight, would you like that?" Recalling the time I said good by to him on the docks Newts eyes start to gleam again and he whispers, "I would like that, very much." We both laugh at the replay in the words but Newt says, "Yes of course Tina I know of a wonderful place for dinner! I was actually going to ask you later, but it seems you beat me too it! We just need to find Jacob and Nagini, I think they are in the barn." I grab Newt's hand and we walk across the lawn and head into the cheery barn. We walk inside and find Jacob and Nagini helping Hazel feed the hippogriffs. Jacob turns around from petting one named Starfire and asks, "It's time to go, already?" I just nod my head. Jacob, Nagini, Newt, and I wish Hazel farwell and each give her a squeeze before walking back to the drive. Jacob grabs Newt's hand and they dissaperate at once but before I grab Nagini's hand she looks at me and whispers not quite a question, "Tina you're finally happy." And on that note I take her hand and we dissaperate to the front porch of Newt's house. I walk inside and ask over my shoulder, "Nagini do you want to help me get ready for my date with Newt tonight?" Her eyes light up and she almost yells, "Of course!"

"Absolutely not!" I insist as I look down at myself squeezed into a tiny leather dress. Nagini just laughs and says, "Of course not, you're no fun but I guess will have to keep it simple and I think Newt will appreciate it." After a few more outfits we decide on a simple white blouse, a deep red skirt, and black boots. Nagini dusts my lips with red lipstick and applies some mascara but that's all I tolerate before I bat her hand away from my face. I take a look in the mirror and it's perfect a little dressy but nothing fancy. I thank Nagini and head to met Newt at the front door.

Newt is dressed in his normal blue coat and scarf but he has tied his bow tie and his hair is brushed a little. He offers me his elbow and I link my arm in his. Curious I ask," where are we going for dinner?" He just gives me a sly grin and says, you'll have to wait and see." Patience has never been my strong suit but I don't want to ruin the night by complaining. Arm and arm Newt and I walk on the sidewalk for a few minutes before Newt breath's, "Tina you are stunning tonight." I feel heat creep up my cheeks but the chill air stops it. He really did look handsome with his hair neat and his clothes nice. "You don't look to bad yourself." I really suck at giving compliments and I wish I could express all the love in my heart for this man but I just fall back into silence. We round a corner and we face a small restaurant called Little Sicily. Newt opens the door for me and we walk inside. The restaurant is quite quaint with yellow walls and wooden chairs and tables. Old wine barrels decorate the walls along with many painting and pictures of Italy. Newt approaches the waiting desk and says, "Reservation for Mr.Scamander."  The waitress looks up and nods her head. She leads us to a small wooden table for two in the far corner of the restaurant. It has a white candle in the middle and a bottle of red wine and two wine glasses with menus. Newt finally explains where we are as we sit down, "I know it's not much but this is my favorite restaurant, it is locally owned and they serve really good food."  I glance around again and recall the fancy restaurants Tolliver used to take me too and say meaning every word, "It's perfect and It's so quaint and cute. " Newt's shoulders seem to relax and he pulls out my chair ever the gentleman. After we both sit down I ask Newt, "What should I order?" Newt glances at the menu and says, "Well the menu changes every month but the pasta is always good or the lasagna is delicious."  I pick up the menu and look it over taking Newts advice I decide to order the lasagna. After a few minutes of silence Newt asks, "Whats your favorite creature Tina?" After a few seconds of thought I say, "Pickett because I am jealous that he gets to hang out in your pocket all day."  Hearing his name Pickett indeed pokes his head out of Newt's coat. Just like that the conversation starts rolling and we are knee deep in an argument about the ban on magical creatures when the waiter polity comes over and announces, "Sorry to interrupt Sir but it is a few minutes to closing time and we would like it if you would please exit the restaurant." Has it really been that long? Every time I went out with Tolliver he would do all the talking and I would count down the minutes until it was over, I guess that is the difference between a giver and a taker. Newt stands up and mumbles, "So sorry, we will leave right now," and he leaves a few dollars on the table as a tip.  I stand up as well and suggest, "Newt I don't want to go home yet, can we take a walk?" Newt lights up at the idea and says, "of course Tina!" He offers his elbow again and we walk out like we walked in arm in arm.

Newt and I enter the street and I instantly regret not grabbing my coat because it is starting to lightly snow.  I start to shiver and Newt leans over and asks, "Tina would you like my coat, you're shivering." I quickly nod and he removes his arm from mine and takes his coat off and places it gently on my shoulders, it smells just like him, cinnamon rolls, forest, and creature. I close my eyes and inhale the smell. With my eyes closed I feel Newt wrap his scarf around my neck, and he is leaning in closer and I feel his soft lips touch mine and before I know I am kissing Newt Scamander!  His lips are soft and gentle yet have an under laying passion as mine and his move in sync. Maybe after a few minutes or seconds we have to break apart to gasp for air. I know it's wrong to compare but every time I kissed Tolliver it felt like I was kissing a worm but this, this felt so right and amazing! We look away blushing and standing in the snow and I see Newt start to slightly shiver so I wrap my arms around him and whisper, "Newt I think I love you." I catch a gleam in his eyes as he whispers back, "Tina I love you so much and I don't know what I did to deserve you." Looking down at the scarf I ask, "why do you always were this scarf?" Newt huffs a laugh and mumbles something like, "she's always curious" before answering, "This is my Hogwarts house scarf, remember I'm a Hufflepuff.  And now you can be an honorary Hufflepuff for this walk home." Curious I ask, "what house would I be in?" Newt considers for a second and says. "Gryffindor because you are the bravest witch I have ever met, even though I would want you to be in Hufflepuff with me." As he explains we keep walking towards home my hands still wrapped around him to keep him warm and smiles on both of our faces. I stop and stand on my tip toes and kiss him again, feeling like I'm in a romantic novel as the snow falls around us.
