Chapter 30: Wedding Planning

Jacob's P.O.V

I turn my head and find Queenie standing behind me lost in thoughts, I wait for her to say something as I continue to wash the dishes I used for the cake tasting. A few dishes later Queenie's mouth pops open but she shuts it quickly and keeps watching me rhythmically scrub bowls. Some days I wish I could read her mind, I look up at her face and ask, "What's wrong honey, you look worried, maybe something is bothering you." She shakes her head with a sad smile and sighs, "Jacob it's just that Tina and Newt get to plan their whole wedding and we can't even invite them to ours. It feels so wrong, I mean not marrying you but having to hide it, ya know?" I give her a squeeze and try to reassure her, "Queen I know it's hard but we are strong and marrying you will be the happiest moment of my life with or without our friends. This gives us something to work towards, to fight. I know that one day we can be married openly but for tight now we have to do it the safe and legal way." I pull my hands out of the suds and rinse them off. Queenie has some light back in her face but doesn't look totally convinced so I add, "Well just because no one can come it doesn't mean that we have no planning to do. Do you want to start planning?" Queenie nods excitedly and we head to the purple and silver dining room. We claim seats across from each other and Queenie starts, "Well I am making my own dress, and you can probably make a small cake, but where are we going to actually get hitched." My heart misses a beat, how could we not have chosen a place already? What place will actually marry a witch and a no-maj? Queenie answers my questions, "I know I can't believe we didn't chose a place and yes there are a few places that we marry us." She waves her wand and a few pictures float in-between us, It looks like the places are, a church, a city hall, and a small building in London. Queenie explains, "these are all the places that wizards can get married. I sorta looked into all three and I like the public hall the best," she motions towards the small brick building, "it has a really nice ceremony room and they don't charge very much." I have to agree with Queenie it is the best looking option. I voice it out loud, " I have to agree with  you honey but when are we getting married, I was thinking after your sisters wedding might be best." Queenie nods in agreement and says "I was thinking the same thing, it will draw less attention, maybe the week after when they are on their honeymoon." "Good plan honey, and for our honeymoon I was thinking we go to Australia for a week, I all ready booked the boat and hotel." Queenie's whole face lights up and she squeals and says in a high pitched voice, " Really Jacob! Deliverance Dane, I have always want to go to Australia!" I get out of my chair and give her a kiss and a hug. I whisper in her ear, "Finally honey we are getting married."

Tina's P.O.V
I try to dodge Hazel's hug but she crushes my ribs and gives me a peck on the cheek. "Oh honey do you know how long I have been waiting for Newt to bring home a daughter-in-law?" I blush scarlet and shrug. She just shakes her head and grabs my left hand, "Wow I'm surprised Newt could pick such a magnificent ring." Newt who is standing behind me clears his throat and says, " Mum I know I can hear you." Hazel snorts and beckons us inside. We all sit down at the wooden dining table and Hazel begins, "Well since we have little time", she shoots a look at Newt, "we need to get all of the planning done today, Newt told me that you already have a place, cake, and dress." I nod and add, "we already sent out invitations as well, they will probably arrive today." Newt grabs me hand under the table and says, " remember mum we want to keep it simple, we only invited a couple of people." Hazel just shakes her head, honestly I am worried about Hazel taking over the wedding, I really don't want it to be extravagant, the least amount of frills the better. Hazel pulls out a large piece of paper with what looks like a diagram and a list written on it. She point her wand on it and the image projects off the paper. Hazel starts explaining the diagram, "since the wedding is going to be in the case I was thinking that we stay with an outdoor theme, the ceremony will be in the mooncalf area, there will be silver chairs and a white isle. I was thinking an arch on morning glories for you to be married under. The chair ends instead of ribbon will be different creatures carved in wood." Newt looks like he is ready to cuts her off but she charges on, "the reception and dinner will be in the graphorn area because it is the biggest. It will have silver chairs and tables with a dance floor." Newt asks, " what's for dinner?" Hazel replies, "a simple ravioli and salad with bread. There will be wine and other drinks but I am trying to keep it simple as possible." I nod and say  " it sounds perfect, thank you for taking this on." Hazel smiles and gives my hand a squeeze, " it's an honor, I have one more question who is going to be in the wedding court?" Newt looks like he is about to answer but I cut him off, "my sister, Queenie, Nagini, Jacob, and Theseus." Newt opens his mouth but I squeeze his hand and whisper, "I'll talk to you about it later." He gives me a confused look  and Hazel just says, "I still can't believe you guys are getting married!"
