Unexpected Romance (Katsuki x Momo) (Hiatus)

The Project

"W-W-What do you mean, Uraraka?", Momo asks, nervously sweating at the question thrown upon her. "I-I wasn't doing anything last night!" The students were back inside their homeroom, and it was time for the girls to interrogate their raven-haired classmate.

"That's not what I read in that journal of yours.", the brunette giggles at the raven. "I saw what you liked about them and even more.", she says licking her lips playfully to tease her friend. "Though, honestly, I don't know about you or Deku. N-Not that I would want him or anything."

The group glances at the whistling girl with curious eyes aimed in her direction. "Uh huh."

"Yao-Momo, is that true?", Jiro asks with curiosity plastered on her face.

Momo blushes at Ochako's words, and even more when presented with reassurance from Jiro. "I-I can't say for sure...", she partially lies to not bring attention to herself. "Maybe it's best for me to hold off on my feelings."

Mina and Toru Hagakure (supposedly) faced each other and squeal with excitement. "Yao-Momo has a crush on the class's most unstable boy?", the invisible girl thinks aloud, laying her elbow on Momo's desk.

"I guess it's true that opposites attract then!" Mina adds to the conversation.

Yaoyorozu turns a bright red, turning to face Tsuyu Asui unintentionally.

"Yaoyorozu," she starts her sentence, "I'm surprised you have feelings Bakugo, honestly, ribbit. What happened with Todoroki?"

"N-No, I d-don't have a crush on him! And nothing happened with Shoto!" The embarrassed girl states frantically.

"Well, in any case, I guess I can see why you're having a hard time choosing between the two." She looked at the bicolored-haired boy being as distant and oblivious as usual, texting on his phone with no care in the world. "As cold as he can be, Todoroki is a nice choice for you, Yaoyorozu.", the frog girl spoke with her finger on her chin. "You two have been through a lot together, so it's only fair to assume you'd be head over heels for him."

Just as she spoke, the hothead himself walked in yelling at Izuku for his morning commute or something else that was just as minuscule really.

"However, on the other hand, you have Bakugo. Despite his nasty attitude, he can be a pretty good person if he opens up to you." Tsuyu looked down at one of the notebooks Momo had, unsure of which one was the one Ochako and Mina knew about. "Even so, it's a rare pairing in my eyes, ribbit. It's all up to you who you choose in the end, though."

"Alright, class.", Aizawa says groggily, "You all will have a project on how Hero society has changed people's lives over the years." The class groans in unison aside from Izuku, Ida, and Momo. "As painful as it is that I can't torture you with Quirk training, this is what you'll be doing for the next week and a half." The sardonic teacher then yawns as he prepares his next statement. "As a result of this sudden shift of focus, you'll each be paired with a partner."

"You mean...ANYONE we want?", a savoring Minoru Mineta asks with excitement.

"No. I'll be choosing your partners randomly." He glances down at a sheet of paper before calling out a list of names. "Alright, let's get this over with.", the raven sighs desperately wanting to get his rest. "Ojiro, you're with Hagakure."

"Cool.", the nervous Mashirao Ojiro replies with a small glance over at the blushing invisible girl. If she was blushing to begin with, anyway.

"Next up is Ida and Todoroki."

'Ida?' Shoto thinks to himself before seeing a smiling Tenya look at him. He then smiles as he listens to the other groups. 'I guess it can't be that bad.'

"Midoryia and Uraraka, Kaminari and Jiro, Sero and Shoji, Sato with Koda, Asui with Tokoyami, Bakugo and Yaoyorozu, Ashido and Kirishima, and Mineta with Aoyama."

Aside from Mineta's squeals of torture, everyone seemed pretty content with the pairings their teacher had given them, all except a few in the classroom. Izuku and Ochako were being more awkward than usual near each other, one scurrying away from the other whilst the former became overwhelmed with nervous anxiousness. Eijiro kept getting shy around Mina, Ashido herself doing her best not to slip up and say the three words she's been meaning to tell him out of nervousness. Tokoyami and Asui were...pretty calm actually. That is until Tsuyu started to pet Dark Shadow and the bird boy nearly had a heart attack at how cute she was. Denki and Kyoka were bickering but both had flushed red faces from the teasing duo of Sero and Rikido. And worst of them all was Momo and Katsuki, who'd nearly blown a fuse in his heart from the fact he was working together with his soon-to-be date. Who just so happened to be the smartest girl in their class. Who was also very talented, easygoing, and extremely beautiful. And the girl who just so happened to be his crush.

The same went for Momo, her blush only increasing as Ashido soon came over to tease both Kirishima and her about Bakugo, the raven's ears burning with a bright redness. 'Do I like Bakugo?' Her thoughts clouded up as she tried to clear the image of the blond from her head. Whatever she did, though, he kept appearing; that confident smile, his muscular build, the way he snorted at little things like Kirishima and Kaminari losing a game of Rock, Paper, Scissors. 'Wait, why do I even know that?! I-I-I was only looking to see who'd win, not his cute smirk!' Instantly, the girl nearly had a nosebleed from the thought of Katsuki alone. 'I do like him, don't I?'
