Krist nervously paced back and forth in the back stage. Today was the competition and he would be the third to perform. There were a total of twenty six contestants, including him and the first one was already singing on the stage.
"Oi Krist! Can you please stop pacing? I'm already dizzy here from your nonstop pacing in there," Gunsmile was seated on one of the many chairs in the backstage. He was there of course, to support his best friend. He knew that Krist would surely win without a doubt and the smaller man was not supposed to be nervous because of that.
"I said stop pacing!" Gunsmile growled and dragged his friend to the seat beside him.
"Don't be nervous, okay? I know you'll win this competition without a doubt! You're way better than any of them here!" Krist immediately covered Gunsmile's mouth and nervously glanced around. The other participants were shooting invisible daggers at them and Krist could only smile apologetically.
"What? It's not like we're talking nonsense. They should understand that they don't stand a chance," Gunsmile proudly said and smirked at the people who looked like they were about to kill him now.
"Gunsmile!" The shorter man whined and jutted his lower lip. He looked down and sighed.
"Have you seen P'Sing already?" His P'Sing and him were supposed to go to the venue together but his phee received a sudden call this morning. It was from a classmate and apparently, he needed his phee's help in their project, if Krist did not misheard it from listening to his phee's conversation on the phone.
Singto apologized to him and promised that he would come before the competition starts. Unfortunately, it already started but his P'Sing is still nowhere to be found.
"Don't worry, Krist. He'll surely come. He won't let this chance pass by without seeing you sing on stage. He'll come before your performance."
Singto tapped his pencil nonstop on the table. He was so uneasy and if he could, he would start running now. He was supposed to be with Krist and where was he? He was sitting beside his girlfriend doing nothing.
"Aren't you finished yet, Fluffy?" he asked, trying to convey his message that he really needed to go now.
Puimek looked at her with furrowed eyebrows. "Why are you in a hurry? Do you have a date? I'm your girlfriend if you're forgetting?" she teased and raised her eyebrows.
"Of course not!" He immediately answered.
"I'm just teasing you, Sing. You don't need to be so defensive. I'm sure that you are loyal to me and that you have no other," she softly says as she gave her boyfriend a quick peck on the cheek before she continued what she was writing a while ago.
Singto looked at the window, getting more anxious. The competition should start any minute now and he was still there sitting and doing nothing but tap the pencil on the table.
'Kit...' he called his brother's name in his mind, worrying as the hands of time kept on ticking.
"Gunsmile... P'Sing is still not here...." Krist voiced out, his lips were quivering and his eyes were glistening with unshed tears.
Gunsmile panicked but he didn't let it shown. He didn't want to add more worry to his friend. He patted his shoulder and smiled in assurance.
"Don't worry, Krist. I'm sure that he's already seated outside waiting for you to perform. Or if not, he's probably on his way here and before the second participant finishes her song, he'll be here." He wished that what he had said would turn true. Krist would be devastated if his P'Sing would not come. He didn't even want to imagine the chaos that was looming in the air.
