Doe eyes slowly fluttered open but squinted when the light coming from the sun outside blinded them. Once again, the owner of those brown eyes opened his eyes and when he was able to, he scanned the room where he was.
"Am I in P'Sing's room?" Krist mumbled and pulled himself into a sitting position but groaned when he felt dizzy from a sudden movement.
"Kit!" In an instant, Singto was beside him, checking his condition. Singto felt his forehead and sighed. "Your fever had gone down but you're still a little warm."
Krist dropped his head and took a glance at his phee through his eyelashes.
"Here, have some porridge. Ma cooked this." He smiled and grabbed the tray of the said porridge from the bedside table. "You want me to feed you?" he asked smiling.
Krist bit his lower lip and shook his head after contemplating.
Singto frowned, not expecting the rejection. "Alright then," he answered and just helped his brother into a comfortable position where he could eat at ease.
Krist slowly ate his food, not saying anything as Singto watched him. He just kept his head hung low. He remembered what happened last night. He knew his phee is mad at him and he is too embarrassed to even look at him. He kept on thinking if he did anything wrong but his brain couldn't grasp an answer.
Singto stares at Krist as he ate his food. He is silent all throughout which is a total opposite of him. Singto then sighed. He knew it was his fault. He knew it had something to do about last night, of how stupid he acted.
He stood up which caused the younger man seating on the bed to look up at him. "I'll be right back," he said and Krist nodded his head as he continued eating silently.
When Singto left, Krist stopped eating and stares at the door. He frowned and lightly hit his chest in an attempt to ease away the aching he felt there. He looked down to the half eaten porridge on his lap.
"What did I do wrong, phee?" he asked himself and rubbed his eyes to stop the tears that were forming. He took the bowl on his lap and placed it back on the bedside table where it was placed before. He then lay down on his side, covering himself fully by the comforter. He suddenly lost his appetite.
Singto came inside, sporting a big smile on his face, his hands behind him. "Ki--" He stopped when he saw that his brother is already under the sheets. He glanced at the bedside table and saw the bowl in there. He walked towards it and looked if it was empty but frowned when he saw that it wasn't.
He sat on the edge of the bed and placed his hand on top of what he assumed is Kit's shoulder. "Are you already sleeping?"
No response.
He sighed and crossed his legs. "Too bad then. I brought you Singtuan." He felt the lump on the bed shift then stopped again. "And do you know that Singtuan isn't alone here? He has acquired a new friend."
Singto stopped himself from smiling when Krist popped his head out, eyes wide with curiosity. "A friend?" he asked, eyes darting to everywhere, looking for the said "friend".
A fluffy lion stuffed toy was placed in front of the searching eyes which caused Krist to smile widely. "Waaa~ I miss you so much, Singtuan!"
Singto smiles at his brother's cute reaction. One moment, he was sulking. Then he was smiling, then back to sulking again. Krist is now seated, tightly hugging the lion and eyes downcast. After a minute or so, the younger man looked up to his phee then dropped his head in an instant.
"You said that Singtuan has a new friend?" he asked in a small voice, hugging the lion tighter. He didn't want to be nosy this time like he did last night. He doesn't want his phee to be madder at him. But his phee was the one who opened the topic now and he saw nothing wrong in asking.
