*6 Months Later*
The nights were getting longer and longer by the day. The sirens and car horns from the city kept me up all night to the point were I was nothing but a lifeless corpse in the morning.
I would say that staring out at the city during nighttime helped, but in reality, it took my breath away and made sleeping more and more difficult.
You never get these kinds of sights in Gwangju, so why not make the best of it?
"You know we need to be up early tomorrow, right?" I turned only to find my older brother leaning against the doorway.
"Yea... I know," I spoke softly.
It was as if nothing happened before. Hoseok and I have definitely grown closer, and I'm happy about that. We can depend on each other in ways we weren't able to with our parents around. Although we both don't like to admit it, but they're gone now and we only have each other...
He sat down on the opposite side of my bed, watching the city lights shine brightly and the night's stars flicker. It was a vision of ecstasy meant for the uneasy and dreadful lives of those that lost, or simply, couldn't rest their eyes.
"Yah know, Ara, there is so much you don't know about this place. The air, the streets, the darkness... Seoul isn't what you'd believe it was," I watched him closely as a look of regret flashed across his pale features. The things he's hiding must've been darker than I thought. When Hoseok's face is ridden of a bright smile, there is something completely wrong...
"Hoseok... what exactly are you keeping from me?"
"Darkness, Ara. There is nothing but pain and despair out there for people like us. I just don't want to see you repeat the same things I did," His gaze shifted to the bed sheets as he traces the design with his index finger. Of course he'd never tell me, it wasn't my place to know.
"Now get some sleep, you'll be up late tomorrow if yah don't," and with that, he got up and walked out the door.
Such a shame...
And just when I thought the night sky couldn't become more captivating, my eyes shut and my mind was far beyond reach. My consciousness was gone in a flash and all of reality faded away.
This was my happy place.
This is where everything dispersed into fragments.

"Ara, wake up sleepy head!" I awoke to my obnoxious brother pounding on my bedroom door. The lunatic could never keep it down in the mornings. NEVER.
"Ara~!" He sang sweetly before popping his baby-face in the room.
"Time to get up~!" He jumped into the room. I turned my relaxed figure over to face my childish brother. Are we sure that he's my older brother?
"There's my beautiful, baby sister!" I gave him a big smile with the grand equivalency of 'FUCK OFF'.
"Harsh aren't yah, sis?"
"Only to you~," I sat up and swung my legs over the edge of the bed, trying not to collapse and fall back into a deep sleep.
