Old Times

2028, I'm 32 years old and have just heard news of time travel, it had been made public since accidentally being discovered in 2021. It worked in a way where if you disrupted or changed the passed, It would affect a different timeline, but not the one you live in. The only issue being is that if you did disrupt a timeline, then the Time Company would bring you on trial or something like that, because "History is History". I still had a sense of hope. 

Back in 2011, when I was just 15, my Mom, Sister, Dad and I all went out to the grand opening of Dick's Sporting Goods. After that we got lunch and went to a movie, but on our way home we got t-boned at an intersection. My Mom and Sister were both killed... They were on the side of the car that took impact. My Dad and I were rushed to the hospital and my dad later died from internal bleeding. The worst part, the guy who hit us, was able to get his car out of there and run from the law. They never found him, justice never took action. 

I have decided to go back in time, and just view these horrible events from a distance. So I could come back to 2028, and find the person who did that and bring a sense of comfort to myself. 

I paid nearly $25,000 just to go back in time, $20,000 of that was just a down payment. I would get in back if I didn't disrupt the passed. I showed up and they dressed me correctly for the "time period" and I was off. I walked into a room, there was a lot of blue and white and a bit of pain, but I showed up in 2011. I walked to the opening of dicks sporting goods. I wanted to see all of them one more time. I kept my distance but I got cocky and got too close and Mom saw me. I left quickly. 

"Shit. Shit. Shit." I said to myself, I hope she doesn't notice. I rushed to the spot that the accident happened but they never came. "fuck." I just messed up another timeline... But at the same time, I felt good. I had made my families life a little better in a different timeline. 

I went back to 2028 and I was handcuffed and brought to jail. 

"It was an accident, I just got to close to my Mom." I pleaded. But I got thrown in jail. Worth it.
