One second she was kissing Azriel her body turning into liquid fire. The next, time slowed, and she knew what was happening. In her vision, Lucien was kissing her. His lips felt unnatural on hers. The vision only took a second, but she knew that the kiss was forced, with a gasp she came back to her own body.

Azriel's eyes were wide, and concern was written all over his face. He cupped her cheek "What is it? What did you see?" He asked.

Elain took a deep breath "It seems that Lucien is coming for a visit."

Three days later

*Elain*

"I just don't understand why you didn't say anything" Azriel was saying. Mor covered her face with her palm "I was a coward Az, I'm so sorry." Azriel hugged the female he loved for so long, but not anymore. "It's okay," he stroked her hair "I just wish that you wouldn't have hidden it for all this time." Mor looked at him, "I was afraid to hurt you" Azriel smiled softly "You didn't. You deserve happiness and if that means you are dating a female than I'm happy for you." Mor hugged Azriel tighter and was about to say something when Elain woke up with a sigh.

Elain sat from her bed too fast. What was that? Was that a vision? What Mor said- did Azriel knew.? In her vision he did, but when did he find out-

It hit her then, the truth. The day Az showed up in her room, looking absolutely and utterly devastated. That was the day. That's why he was crying.

Elain felt both Azriel's and her own heart shattering to pieces. Maybe Azriel could never be with Mor, but that did not change the fact that he was still in love with her. His reaction from that night proved it. She hoped that maybe he felt the same way about her, but now all her hopes were crushed.

Elain felt tears gathering and shook them away. It was enough; she has had enough of being weak. She was tired of crying, so Elain got out of bed.

By the light outside it still looked like night, but Elain started to get ready. She wouldn't be able to sleep now anyway and would end up sulking over someone she can't have. Today was ten years how the war ended. It became a tradition to celebrate. Last year the Dawn Court held the anniversary, this year the Night Court would be the hosts.

Today would require a lot of energy and forced smiles, however, all Elain wanted to do was lock herself in her room and cry her eyes out. But, Feyre and Rhys needed help, so Elain went to the kitchen; she tried not to think of her already shattered heart as she started working.

*Azriel*

Azriel felt so much more at ease after settling things with Mor. It felt like a new chapter. Azriel found her in the city after she walked out of Rita's and they started talking. He felt free now, and all he wanted to do was run to Elain. She was probably asleep, it was early after all the celebration would be tiresome, and Elain would need all the night sleep she could get.

Azriel was pulsing with newfound energy, so he decided to train. Cass would be proud. He winnowed to the training area, close to Elain's lovely garden.

He took off his weapon belt, his shirt following soon after and started stretching. Azriel began with the knife throwing; he'd been at it for at least an hour when he looked up.

The light was pouring out of the kitchen windows. This could either mean that Rhys and Feyre were night snacking or that his flower could not sleep. Azriel knew that he probably should just proceed with his training, but if it was Elain and if she could not sleep- he flew to the kitchen.
