Just as you were about to sneak another peak at him, Blackie's eyes met yours. Both of you stared at each other, for what felt like forever, before you broke the spell-like gaze. Blackie looked away and cleared his throat as he continued his tour. You kept your focus on the anything except him; your face was a lovely shade of pink, as for Blackie who's face was a vibrant red.
Walking into Lucy's room, you immediately smiled as your eyes scanned every corner of her room. There was nothing but soft pastel colors, soft, frilly lace, and dolls of all shapes sizes as far the eye could see.
"And this is Lucy's room. She really likes lace." He chuckled while turning to look at you.
"Her room is beautiful. With all the bright colors, it looks like it's Easter all the time in here." You giggled as you touched a low hanging corner of her bed spread.
"That's a good way to put." Blackie led you to the center of Lucy's room, and helped you climb onto a white step stool that was next to the bed. "I want you to meet the toys that are here. They're very friendly and also shy at sometimes; so don't worry if only a few of them come to meet you." He said as he lifted you onto her bed.
"How old is Lucy, Blackie?" You curiously asked.
"She's six years old. And very intelligent." Blackie replied. You were looking at all of the decorations on her bedroom walls when suddenly you heard Blackie make a struggling noise from the other side of bed.
You jumped at the sudden noise before looking over your shoulder to seen him trying his best to pull a pink teddy bear wearing a baby blue dress up onto the bed. You quickly made your way back to him, and grabbed onto the teddy bear's other hand, well mitten-looking hand. With a few good tugs, you both managed to help the fuzzy bear onto the bed.
"Thank you (Y/N). I was just about to ask for your help." Blackie panted while grinning at you. "Cotton Candy this is (Y/N). (Y/N) this is Cotton Candy, she's one of Lucy's teddy bears." Blackie introduced the two of you as he crossed his arms over his chest.
Cotton Candy gave you a warm smile as she walked up to you. You couldn't help but smile kindly at her as you met her halfway to shake her hand.
"Hello, Miss Candy. It's nice to meet you." You smiled. Cotton Candy shook your hand, and gave you a hug much to your surprise.
"It's nice to meet you to dear. I see that you've met Steven already." Her voice was very soothing, and she also had a motherly air about her.
"Steven?" You giggled and raised an eyebrow at her, hoping that she would explain who this Steven was.
"Oh forgive me dear. Blackie's real name is Steven, heaven only knows why he chose to change his name to Blackie." She said while smiling at Blackie.
You looked at Blackie as well only to see that he had his shoulders slumped forward and his hands were over his face. You and Cotton laughed as he feigned a glare at the two of you.
"I'm in show business that's why I changed my name. Do you think Steven Lawless sounds like a rockstar name?" He put his hands on his hips and laughed too.
"Yes." Cotton said. This made you chuckle more which made Blackie saunter up to you.
"Of course you'd say that. Now (Y/N) is going to laugh every time she hears my real name." He said with somewhat of an annoyed look on his face. You noticed the expression on his face, and reached down to hold his hand.
"I think Steven is wonderful name. I like it." You told him. He looked at you and smiled.
"So (Y/N), are you new here?" Cotton asked kindly.
"Yes ma'am, I was a gift for Lucy. She got me today." You replied.
"Well, it's going to be wonderful having a pretty girl like you around. I've told Steven time and time again that it would be lovely to see him settled down, and married to a nice young lady like you." Cotton was practically beaming with joy as she imagined Blackie getting married to you.
You blushed and hid your face in your hands as Blackie cheeks began to heat up. He held the elated bears hands, and smiled crookedly at her. He embarrassment was getting the best of him.
"Now Miss Candy, I've told you before I'm not really ready to settle down, and get married." He said while looking at her. Cotton only smiled as she gave him a big hug.
"I know dear. You've told me the same thing since the day I met you. But you never know, time changes everyone's minds" She smiled at you before releasing Blackie from suffocating embrace.
Blackie inhaled deeply before coughing a couple times. You walked next to him, gently rubbed his back. Looking up, you seen that Cotton Candy was already at the edge of the bed, and about to climb down.
"I'll see you kids later. It's almost time for me to take a nap. It was a pleasure meeting you Miss (Y/N), and it was lovely seeing you again Blackie." Cotton was already standing on the step stool before she slowly made her way back to a toy box on the other side of the room.
"I didn't get to say goodbye." You frowned slightly as you looked up Blackie.
He looked at you before contorting face, and lifting his hand to his mouth and pulling out some of Cotton's pink fuzz from his mouth. You stifled a laugh as he threw it onto Lucy's bed.
"It's okay, she'll sometimes leave right in the middle of a conversation." He smiled thinking about the old, pink teddy bear.
"She will?" You asked.
"Yeah, but it's understandable. She used to be Lucy's mother's teddy bear when she was a child." Blackie said.
"Oh, that's amazing." You said.
"So are we going to look around at anything else today, Steven?" You playfully smirked as you mentioned his name, and waited to see if he would notice.
"Actually, yes. I was going to show you-." Blackie stopped talking and turned to look at as he cocked and eyebrow at you. "Ha ha real funny, (Y/N). You not going forget my real name, are you?" He laughed dryly.
"Nope!" You grinned.
"Oh boy... Well I was going to show where Lucy keeps her remote controlled cars." He said while placing his finger on his chin. You gasped with joy when you heard this.
"I would love to see her toy cars! I've always wanted to drive one." You exclaimed.
"Alright then I'll take you to see them." Blackie held his hand out to you which you happily accepted. You and Blackie walked towards the edge of the bed. He slid down onto the step stool, and reached out to catch you again. With a little hesitation, you slid off the bed and into his arms. Blackie set you down before jumping onto the floor, and waited for you to do the same. Just as you were about to jump off the small stool, your right foot slipped, and you ended up falling onto of Blackie. You groaned as you tried to move but couldn't. You moved again but soon realized that Blackie still had his arms around your waist.
"Thank you for catching me Blackie." You laughed lightly as you lifted your head to look at him. His face was nowhere in sight until you looked down. You immediately blushed a dark red as you seen that his face was buried in your chest; you sat up quickly and soothed your dress out as Blackie sat up as well and held the back of his head. His cheeks were painted red as he stood up and walked towards you.
"I'm terribly sorry about that (Y/N). I really am." He bashfully said as he helped you on your feet.
"It's alright. It wasn't your fault, my foot slipped before I could even jump." You quietly said while trying to look at him. You immediately changed the conversation to help ease the embarrassing atmosphere between you and Blackie.
"So how many other toys do you know?" You asked.
"Oh quite a few." He replied as he walked with you out of Lucy's room.
"That's nice."
"Well, when you've been "invited" to as many tea parties as me you get to know a few new faces." He chuckled.
