Day of the Demons

Amber's p.o.v

Today is the day of the demon. Or as mortals call it, Halloween. At dusk I'll be turned into my demon form. So I must hide once the sun begins to set. The door bell rang. I opened the door an old friend was there. I smiled. "Hey Koda! Long time no see!" I said. "Hey! Heard you were back in town! Had to come over and see you again!" He said smiling. "How have you been?" I asked. "I've been doing good. You?" He said. "I've been alright. Met this cute guy at the grave yard last night." I said. He chuckled. "Did ya get his name?" He asked. I nodded. "His name is Bryce" I said. He looked curious. "I might know him. But I don't know. One thing's for sure Imma talk to this guy if he ever intends on going out with you" he said. "Ay easy there tiger. No need to get all protective." I said. "Hey can't I watch out for my sis?" He asked. I giggled. "I'm thousands of years older than you" I said. He laughed. "Still you like a sister to me. I've known you for how long?" He said. "5 years" I said. "Exactly" he said. "So what are your plans for the night?" He added changing the subject. I laughed at the sudden change. "Gotta keep an eye out for angels and protect the innocent demons." I said. "You gotta Patrol tonight. That sucks." He said. I shrugged. "Better than going out door to door. Besides, it's my job." I said. "So are you a general or something now?" He asked. I nodded. "Father put me in charge of the army. But sent me back here to keep watch out. The war is only still at the beginning. I don't think it's gonna end any time soon." I said. "Do you need help?" He asked. I shook my head. "No. We've got it covered. Besides mortals shouldn't fight in this war. If so it may be worse than the one back in the 1300's. You guys made newer and stronger weapons. But hardly anything to stop a demon or angel." I said. He nodded. "Well Imma head back out and get ready for tonight. See you later! Good seeing you again!" He said. I nodded. "Same" I said. We hugged then he left. I sat on the couch and thought. I guess I dozed off cause I jerked awake to Colin shaking me. I looked at him. "What?" I asked. "It's almost dusk." He said. I looked at the time. It's 5pm. "Shit! How long do I have?" I asked. "Bout 2 minutes" he said. I got up and ran to my room. I began to get all my gear. I put my suit on the bed and I felt myself begin to transform. Here we go, once I'm done getting ready gotta be out all night. After I was transformed I undressed and started putting on my suit. Once I was done with that I geared up. I walked out of the room. "Want some help tonight?" Someone asked. I looked behind me and saw Daniel. "No. I have to do this alone. But if you see anything strange text me or call me. Ok?" I said. He nodded. I went outside then started heading to town in the shadows. Once I got there little kids were out with their parents trick-or-treating. I smiled. I sat on a branch of a tree. Hidden so they couldn't see me. I'd like to go out in the open. But with what's going on and the way I'm dressed, I'll be targeted.

3 hours later

It has been 3 hours since I've been out. No trouble so far. Which is highly suspicious. I went to the roof of a building. Then I got thinking. Some demons rise out of cemeteries. I headed for the cemetery I was at last night. I sense only one demon here other than myself. I looked around. It looks peaceful. I walked around to find the demon here. After a minute I couldn't sense it's energy anymore. I went to where I last sensed it's energy. I stopped in my tracks shocked at what I found. The demon was laying on the ground still. I rushed over and checked for vitals. There were none. I got up and put my hand on my sword. I listened closely. Then something tackled me from behind. We both fell to the ground. I growled and tried to get who ever was on me off. But their grip was tight. "Unhand me!" I said growling. I felt them freeze for a second. But then they tied my arms behind my back and got off me. They still had a tight grip on my arms. Then brought me to my feet. I struggled to get free. They tightened their grip on my arms. I looked at them and froze. "B-Bryce!?" I said shocked. He looked me in the eyes and froze himself. "Amber!? I knew I've heard that voice before!" He said. "You....You are an Angel!?" I said with grief. "You're a Demon!" He said still shocked. "Well...now that you got me...what are you going to do with me?" I asked knowing he'll probably kill me. He paused for a moment. "I don't know...With you being the daughter of Satan...there's a large bounty on your head." He said. Of course there is. Cause I'm Satan's offspring. And next in line. So of course they'll have a bounty on me. I sighed. "I'm guessing you're after that bounty?" I asked. He looked down then back at me. "No." He said untieing me. I was shocked. "What?" I said in suprise. "That bounty isn't worth killing you." He said. "What do you mean?" I asked. He looked hesitant. "I can't kill you. And I don't want to kill you." He said. I looked around thinking. "Wanna team?" I asked looking back. He was surprised. But then smiled. "Sure!" He said. I smiled. "I still gotta patrol though. Um do you know if there are any planned attacks tonight?" I asked. "Only a few" he said. "Can you help lead me to the demons being ta-" I was inturupted by a little kid's scream. "I don't know the demon they are targeting but that might be one!" He said. "Come on!" I said running to the direction of the scream. When we got there I saw Daniel with a little girl who was being attacked. "HEY!" I yelled. The person turned around. It was an angel. "Leave the girl alone" I said. The angel pushed the girl over. Daniel caught the girl. "Go get out of here!" I said to him. He nodded and ran. The angel looked at Bryce. "FOLLOW THEM!" They yelled. I looked at Bryce and nodded. He followed Daniel and the girl. I drew my sword. "Aren't you supposed to be after demons not humans?" I asked. "I was given strict orders to kill anyone who associated with demons. Those two you are protecting fight on the side of the demons. And you, you're no ordinary demon are you?" The angel said. "No. I am Amber. The daughter of Satan. I fight here to protect my friends and family." I said. The angel chuckled. "You have no idea what you are up against. You are merely a child." They said. I growled. "That is where you are wrong. I've been trained up till now to deal with you angels!" I said as I charged gripping the handle of my sword tighter. The angel disappeared. I looked around frantically. I suddenly felt a hand on my shoulder. As soon as I looked behind me the hand crushed my shoulder. I yelped. "Merly a child" The angel said. I growled and swong my sword towards them. They dissapeared once again. I looked around frantically. "COWARD!" I yelled. They reappeared infront of me. "Mmm no. Just don't have time to deal with a child. I have more pressing matters to attend to." They said dissapearing again. I froze. What did they mean by that. I quickly ran in the direction I saw Bryce running in last I saw him. As I ran I pulled out my phone and called Daniel. To my luck no answer. I growled and ran to his house. When I got there I saw him and Bryce on the pourch talking. I sighed in relief knowing they're safe. I walked up to them out of breath. "Are you ok?" Daniel asked. I nodded. "Just got to catch my breath. That's all." I said sitting on the ground. "Get her some water please." Bryce said sitting beside me. I heard Daniel go in the house. "They got away." I said looking down. "You'll get them next time. Did you kick their ass at least?" Bryce asked. "More like I got my ass kicked." I said running my hand through my hair. "They said they had more pressing matters to attend to. Do you know what they meant?" I asked looking at him. "I remember stuff being said about your father coming up tonight. And someone needed help taking him out incase the person failed. I don't know who was assigned to kill him. But knowing Satan, its more likely he got to the assassin first" he said chuckling. I nodded. "Plus last I knew my father was staying in Hell to be with my mother and brother." I said. "Dont worry about it. Your father is tough as hell. He'll be alright." He said. I smiled a little. Daniel came back and handed me a glass of water. "Thank you" I said. He nodded. I started to drink the nice cold water when I suddenly got a sharp pain in my chest. I dropped the glass as I was frozen with pain. "What's wrong!?" They both asked frightened and concerned. I could not speak, only gasp slightly. After a few moments of being frozen I moved onto my hands and knees breathing heavily. "Are you ok!? What is going on?" Daniel asked kneeling by my side. Putting my hand on my chest as the pain started to diminish I was able to finally speak. "I-I have no idea what just happened. I had felt a sharp pain in my chest. Like I was being stabbed.." They both helped me up as my breathing slowed and started to return to normal, Bryce looked very shocked when he looked at my face. "What?" "Your eyes...Daniel I'm not going crazy right?" He said looking at him. Daniel looked at me then his eyes went wide. "You are not going crazy." he responded. "What the fuck is wrong with my eyes? I am not blind for as I can still see. What is it then?" I said getting aggitated. "They are a darker red.." Bryce said. "What?" I said very confused. They both nodded. I grabbed my phone and went to open my camera when my phone suddenly rang. It was my father. "Yeah dad?" "Amber it's me. I have some very grave news...your father was killed."
