Foreward, Dear Reader

The world is ran by constant variables. Even the most mediocre life is controlled by them, and it's not really hard to figure out what they are. For a normal trainer, they'd wake up, eat breakfast, train while they travel, eat while they train, and find a place to camp out for the next night until they make it to the next town.

Now, dear reader, I know you're going to debunk my theory here. What happens once the trainer gets to the next town or city that has a gym? Or, better yet, what happens if that trainer is so lucky in becoming the champion. My answer to you: there is still a constant. That trainer still has to wake up, eat breakfast, prepare for the next battle that's ahead, travel to the place that they'll have that battle. Win or lose, they'll still want to remain strong that they'll go to bed and repeat the process once more.

And yes, before you say anything, I know my story is being read. Don't expect much from it. True, my story isn't about being one of those Pokémon trainers. I have no need to do that. If your looking for that, go check your nearest library for the books about great trainers. I'm sure there are hundreds about the Kanto greatest hero, Red, or ones about the newest champion, Moon. Those are a good start as to what a trainer's life should be like. As to why you're nosing your way into my story, it's beyond me.

There are still constant variable in my life. Nothing exciting happens, and that's okay. I like the predictability of getting up in the mornings and eating with the same group of people. It's good to know that everyday I work for my job, we are doing what is good for this world. While my tasks may be a bit different, I still journal it in a same notebook, while I journal in this one for a different one.

I write in my journal for a reason. Yes, I get it. No one cares what goes in it. Most journals usually list things off for trainers such as:

Caught a Zigzagoon.

Battled the gym leader Roxanne and lost, loosing $150.

Healed Pokemon at the Pokecenter.

Ran into my Rival.

Rival gave me a Pokeblock recipe.

End of day.

Sorry. Too boring. Too simple. When I write in my journal, I'm going to say exactly how things went. Everything that happened in this is true. That list doesn't show that. I need detail to memorize. It'll help me down the road, so I'm not blindsided by people. Not again at least.

I'm not making that mistake again. People outside Team Magma are not to be trusted. You may not understand it yet, but what Team Magma is doing is for the good of Hoenn. We are doing what is right. People may not see it. I don't care if you don't see it either, but trust me. Team Aqua is horrible. They want to speed up a flood that is predicted to wipe out the entire world. I dare you to tell me I'm wrong, but what good is it to wipe this world of it?

At least by sending out a massive drought before it happens, we may have a chance to survive.

But no. Nobody believes this. Everyone just sees us as being the bad guys. Guess what? We're not! One of these days, we'll show the world who the real heroes of Hoenn is. After all, third times a try right?

My name is Ember, and if you continue to read on, I'm sorry to say, you're going to be very disappointed. Everything you think you know about our world is wrong. After all...

...our days are numbered and Team Magma is the only way to save what's left.

Author's Note:

Hey everyone! Whether you're coming around cuz you found this book floating around cyberspace, or you came cuz you heard about it through one of my other books, welcome! Hope you enjoy this. Trying a few things different, and out of my comfort zone as I've never written a romance book before. Keep in mind, things may be a little rocky and unlike anything I've previously written. Updates on this will be really slow, like once a month or so until I find more time to write and figure out all that fun fluff stuff.

Anyways, I just hope you enjoy it. Don't be afraid to share your thoughts throughout this book as I love hearing from you all. The good, the bad, the ugly, I don't mind.

Below is for my own reference. Just want to see how long it took me to write this entire book start to finish.
