23 Days until Torrent Day
Dear Reader,
You know, as I'm writing this, all I can think right now is what if Asher, Lynne, or anyone from Team Magma or Team Aqua is reading this? Gosh, if you're one of them, I truly am embarrassed by everything written so far.
Today's no exception.
Every plan of mine, even the impromptu ones, has always ended up the way I wanted them to. Even if there were some unpredicted variables I had to face, I always ended up going through with the mission.
This time was different. I mean, I've always known what to do in the moment if things went wrong. It wasn't like the mission was a flop. There was just somethings I didn't plan on.
Like a grunt being smarter than he lead on to be.
Everything went smoothly at first. Lynne fashioned me a Team Aqua uniform that looked exactly like theirs. So much so that when I did sneak around the building, no one even thought I was a part of Team Magma. Lynne claimed that it was because my hair and height allowed me to blend in better. Even then, I wasn't so sure since my skin was as white as the paper you're reading this on. Tanning was never an option for me.
All that aside, Lynne had to sit this one out. She might've been a fierce battler, but Team Aqua would've known something was up if she walked in. Being that she was more of a fighter than smarts, like I was, Asher had to stay back to teach her the controls of the helicopter they hid in just outside of Lilycove City. All I'd have to do is whisper a few words for her to pick up on the earpiece, and she'd come and help me escape.
That was the plan at least, and it was a well thought out plan too. With those two helping each other, I was able to get into the building, find some plans, take some pictures of the important stuff (because if I took them, Team Aqua would know something was going on) and left. We didn't even have to go into Plan B which was Asher coming in for back-up to help me out of there.
Like me, he would've blended in perfectly there. Not because of his stature, but because he had the skin-tone for it too. At least, that was one thing I noticed when I was there. He would've blended in perfectly. Not like me, who felt like I stood out the entire time.
Yet, no one noticed. Everything seemed easy. Too easy.
It wasn't until I got back to headquarters that I realized what was wrong. I had brought both my Pokémon, Cami and Mikie, with me to their hideout, but somehow one of them went missing.
In place of the Poké Ball was a note.
I don't know what happened, dear reader. Even as I sit here and write in this pathetic little journal, I don't know what went wrong. I kept my eye on them. I swear I did. There was absolutely no way that things could've gone wrong like that.
So how that letter latched onto my belt is beyond me. It scared me. What it read was even worse.
"I know you're not supposed to be here. Meet me at the location below. Seems like you forgot something."
That was it. Somehow someone figured it out. I just don't know why the person didn't report me in right away, but I don't like the idea of them holding my Pokémon as hostage. If I told Maxie about this, he would say that one Pokémon would be worth the information he got. When I did give him the camera of the information, he seemed quite pleased. It's been a while since I've seen Maxie smile. The information he got wasn't worth a Pokémon's life.
It just stinks because Cami was my first Pokémon. She and I had been together since I left home. I know, a Numel isn't a Pokémon that people expect as she's not your everyday Starter Pokémon, but she was a gift. A gift from my grandmother.
Cami and I did everything together. From the moment my grandmother entrusted her to me, Cami never left my side. She was there when things got tough. I don't like to think much of what happened before my days as a member of Team Magma. Those days were haunting memories best kept unsaid, but Cami was the only one there for me. Even when my grandmother passed away, Cami stood by my side.
Why would they do that to me? They were members of Team Aqua, Water-Type specialists. Fire-Types weren't well liked. Knowing them, they weren't going to treat her fairly.
If only I had kept her behind with Lynne and Asher, none of this would've happened. I should've known bringing a Pokémon with a type disadvantage was a bad idea. Not only could it have blown my cover while I was there, but now, I couldn't imagine what they were doing to her.
There was an address on the back of the sheet, with the words "May 20, 10 pm" behind it. I would have to wait twenty-four hours for Cami, and even then, I wasn't sure if I could get her back.
I already planned on not telling anyone. I couldn't, and I wasn't. Tomorrow, I had a meeting with Maxie on how everything had gone. After that, I'm not sure what will happen. All I knew was that I would excuse myself to go to bed early to sneak out and Cami back.
Somehow, I would get her back, and stay loyal to Team Magma.
Somehow.

Author's Note:
Hello, dear readers (oh boi, now I'm sounding like Ember). This book is still on Hiatus (sorta) but it's been so long since I last updated it, I wanted to let you know this book hasn't been forgotten. In fact, once SGBM3 is finished, this will be my main project. I just wish I would give you all a longer chapter, but next chapter will be huge! Chapters in this book are going to be weird like that.
In the meantime, seeing as Ember talks a bit about Type Advantage, I want to know, what is your favorite typing in the Pokémon universe?
