you take all the credit
at saying you raised me
but a mom is not supposed
to make you feel worthless
i had to drown for you
to keep you on board of the boat
but the problem is
i was too young to row by myself
and i had you to carry.
the weight of our bodies
trapped in a nightmare
that i didn't know how to get out of,
dark like the fire you made me fall into
wasn't it enough that i was burning
that you also had to took my skin
to wrap yourself in when you were cold
i don't hate you
but i loathe the way you thought
my validation was less substantial than yours
found you in the bathroom
multiples pills running through your veins
screaming at the pain
because at this point,
the only thing i really needed was a mother
