The Director paced back and forth in front of the medical bay entrance, glancing through a medical observation window as medical personnel scrambled to stabilize Agent Alaska.

"Agent Alaska will surely survive, Director," the Councilor noted to him.

"Councilor, I'm not worried about her survival. I'm worried about her well-being. She can be there in body, but that's only half of what makes a FREELANCER a FREELANCER. The mind must be there as well."

The Councilor fell silent, glacing back at biosigns.

"Her heart stopped for only forty five seconds. That's hardly a concern for brain damage."

"I know, Councilor! However, her sixth sense is a concern. I want the best neurologist here now, Councilor."

"I will arrange that, Sir," the Councilor noted to the Director, even though they already had Dr. Andersmith one of the best neurologists in the UNSC. The Councilor left the observation room, leaving the Director to his lonesome to watch over his adopted daughter in silence and solitude.

"I'll be damned if I let my daughter be so bold as to die before me," the Director muttered under his breath.

I had to see for myself. It was my duty. I briskly marched to the medical bay observation room. Medical personnel were scrambling all over the place, even five hours after the infiltration scenario, trying to stabilize Agent Alaska.

"Agent Maine, I believe that Agent Alaska will emerge alive. However, there is concern she will not possess complete mental presence.

"Now about your performance during the scenario. I still have yet to calculate a viable option for how Agent Alaska successfully passed us into and out of the objective room. I am running secondary analysis grids-"

Don't bother Sigma. You can't figure it out yet, with more data you might, but as of now, you are unable, so put it out of your mind. Run all medical procedures with Alaska's condition and give me statistics on her likelihood of complete recovery or death.

"Your concern for Agent Alaska is very...uncharacteristic, Agent Maine."

Do it.

"Understood. Running analysis and crossreferences with medical statistical data."

Sigma continued to think excessively, contemplating all solutions.

"Agent Maine, why are you so concerned for Agent Alaska?"

She isn't that different from me, except she's younger...and a she.

"Understood. So this budding fondness is due to the fact that you are both incapable of speaking. A common human tendancy."

"Maine," a familiar voice greeted. It was Washington. I gave him a nod and a growl. Washington turned and observed the medical personnel.

"Hello, Agent Washington," Sigma greeted for both of us, projecting his hologram.

"Hey Sigma," Washington greeted.

"Is there anything we can do for you, Agent Washington?" Sigma inquired.

"Nah.. I was just coming to see if her condition has improved."

"You two shouldn't be here," a voice said, entering the observation area.

"Councilor," Washington greeted.

"Hello, Agent Washington. Agent Maine."

"Hello Councilor," Sigma greeted.
