Consume Me

Nurse!?

      "NURSE!!!!!" They screamed.

      The patient has lost his mind
Acting wild
         Shouting
                  Saying things that brought fear to all who heard

       The doctors tried all they could
   Nothing seemed to work
        No meds
             No doctors
                  No therapy
             Nothing worked

    Each day seemed worst then the last
       

          Today he finally snapped

    There was the new nurse that had came to the hospital
           She seemed to stay calm no matter what
  The patients loved her

    "NURSE!!" they called for her
       Hoping she could do something

     She walked in the room with a blank look, seeing the man scream and frail around.

      " Would you kindly leave, to help I should be alone with him," she said calmly without an expression.

    " Nurse, are you sure? Some of our best doctors can't even-"

     " Yes, I'm sure. Now please leave," her voice was kind but her expression seemed serious, one you should not mess with.

     They followed her order and left the room.
             Hours seemed to pass
      The noise died down
   It seemed quiet yet the air felt heavy

    Worried a doctor had enough and knocked on the door

   " Come in," he heard her gentle sweet voice through the door. He walked in to see the patient quietly crying in her arms, holding on to her like his life depended on it.

   " How did you- How? This patient has beaten doctors for coming too close, he would scream, and frail around. How did you calm him? Medicine didn't even work," he asked so confused

 

   " Haven't you, any of you, thought that he was just scared and needed someone to hold him close? To let it out?"  He never did, he never thought such a idea. He never seen the nurse smile before.

     Her words rang in his head, her smile when looking at the patient, her gentle touch that calmed him down.

    " Haven't you ever thought he was scared? Wanted someone there to calm him? To let it out? To mean something? I have once too, so I'll be that person for them, for anyone. Hopefully some day I'll get it in return."

I edited it so that was my finally product, the whole poem or story was mine. I had a different idea for this chapter but as I started writing it turned into this. I'm happy how it turned out so I hope you enjoyed it as well.
