Heart, Heart, Heart

I left my flock and flew away.
The sun was blocked and the sky was grey.
I kept on flying day by day;
Til on the horizon i glimpsed a ray.

Before I knew it I crashed into another bird.
She must had been blinded
By the ray and couldn't see me.

I lost control over my wings.
Fell far down, fast and straight.
On my way I saw two kings
Fighting over Earth's fate.

The one with the suit stabbed the one with the crown,
And everyone bellow began to hustle.

By the time I hit the ground they were all dead.
So were my wings, they moved no more.

I pulled myself up to walk.
My bones were cracked, but that could heal,
Though I didn't really know what to feel.

Making my way through their bodies,
Few steps ahead I found a heart
Laying on the sand, still beating.
I struggled to kneel, but managed to hold it.

I marched on for few more days
Upon endless empty vessels of soul containers,

With dews of blood dropping from the heart.
A drop fell on one woman's lips.
With a struggling inhale, she reached her hand for me.

I pulled it and sat before her,

Gave her the heart, and mashed her back gently.

She began to breathe again as soon as she poured her face inside the heart and started to suck blood out of it.

And her face began to grin, showing her red creepy teeth;

And her eye pupils dilated and she stared at me.

Then she grined her teeth out and bit a piece of the heart.

I was terrified, so I quickly snatched it off her hands and crawled my way again.

Looking back in a shock,
she was still reaching her arm to me,

Finding the strength to stand up, she did.

She started walking towards me,

with very slow and weak foot steps,

And a mouth raining blood,

With every drop falling on a vessel, it inhaled, got itself up, and grined towards me with slow motions and and creepy snores,

And the heart in my hands bled out like a fountain, raising the dead up.

Nothing ahead but endless ground of sand and bodies...

I didn't know if I should leave them the heart and go my way,

But i found it and I felt responsible.

Hands clenched my feet and I pulled it as quick;

And the rising herd started to move faster behind me, whispering all at once,"Heart,... Heart,... Heart,...".

I looked up ahead.

In the far distance I could see my flock,
Flying underneath the cloud Around a ray that broke through from the sun.
I gathered my strength and started to run.

Faster and faster, the herd became,
And my wings barely spread again,
The tears floaded out of my eyes,
And I drew a loud, echoing cry.

Faster and faster my feet moved
And I almost stumbled upon a reaching hand,
and I dropped off the heart again on the sand...

Heavy, it was, so lighter became my wings
As they healed, finally, and hit the winds.
And I could only yet so barely rise above the ground.
So fast I flew until I found
A river through which I could see my reflection:
A face, two fine wings, and a hallow chest...
I let the wind take me up and around.
To see my heart that they started to surround
And kill each other over it.

I left disappointed, headed for the ray,
Looking forward to what may.
And as I came towards it,
It blinded me and I was hit.

I looked around but it was dark.
So I kept going up and moving on.
