A Hunter's Smile - Murder #2

"Morning everyone!" Casey grins as he enters the Mess Hall for breakfast. Everyone is there, sitting in their usual places, already eating. They all respond, saying good morning to him. Maya waves at him and he grins. Grabbing some breakfast, he sits down beside her.

"Good morning Casey! How are you doing today?" she asks with a cute look on her face. Casey can feel himself blush a little and she giggles.

"Morning Maya. I'm feeling great, thanks for asking! And what about you?"

"I'm feeling great, like always!!" She blows her hair out her eyes and continues to eat happily. Rose chuckles and writes something.

"Everyday is a great day when you're around Maya! You've lightened up the whole temple!" It reads. Maya blushes pink with pride and grins happily.

"Awww, that's so sweet of you Rose! You've lightened up the temple too; with your adorableness!" It's Rose's turn to blush brightly as Maya compliments her, and everyone smiles happily. Once again, Maya The Optimist is there to make sure even the muted ones are feeling the love they deserve.

About thirty minutes later, Maya stands up. "Well, I'm gonna head to the training room! I wanna look around it properly. Hey Jarrod, you wanna come with me?"

Jarrod shakes his head. "I promised Camille we'd go the the library. Sorry Maya, but I'll have to pass on that offer for now." Maya looks a little sad, but she still smiles all the same.

"It's alright! I'll be fine on my own! I'll see you all at lunch time!" She kisses Casey on the cheek and rushes off with a grin on her face like always. Casey blushes a red colour akin to his shirt, and everyone else laughs, including Casey.

A few minutes later, Theo gets up. "Well, I'm gonna see if we missed anything while on our little trip around the place yesterday. I swear I saw another door nearby the potions room." Lily gets up as well.

"Ooh, I saw that too! Can I come along with you?" Theo shakes his head and Lily sits down. She can understand why he declined his offer; despite all the fun and games lately he's still been on edge about the whole "walking around with just one other person" thing. He prefered to be in at least a group of three. With a wave goodbye, he walks off and out the Mess Hall.

"Hey Rose, can we head to the bathroom? I need to use the mirror in there to sort out my hair, see." Lily looks at Rose. "You don't have to come if you don't want to, of course. It's just an offer."

Rose shows her the notebook. "Of corse I'll come with u!" Lily grins and hugs her friend once again and the two rush off to the bathroom without looking back at the rest of the gang. Casey chuckles; they were certainly hyper.

"Y'know, there's one thing I wanna know about Maya; she's the Ultimate Hunter, right? So how come she looks like shes 15??" points out Dominic. Jarrod shrugs.

"No clue. But she did tell me she is actually 17, meaning she's the youngest of us all. Rose is 18, so she's slightly older. Those two are the youngest ones here!" Jarrod chuckles. "That would explain why they're both so hyper, despite one being part blind."

Camille shows them her notebook. "She's also mute like me; I don't know what I'd do if she was killed. I'd be the only mute person left!" Casey smiles and puts a hand on Camille's shoulder.

"Don't worry Camille. We all adore Rose, so I doubt she'll be killed. Same thing goes for Maya; we all love her, so the chances of her being killed are pretty low."

"But what if someone was intimidated? She is the Ultimate Hunter after all; what if someone wanted to kill her so that she didn't kill them first?!"
