Aura sat peacefully on her beige-colored couch, pillows holding her body up as her long legs were sprawled all over the place. One hanging off the side and the other folded upwards, holding her sketchbook in place as she played with her pencil, bored. She let out a yawn and looked at previous sketches, soft music playing in the back making the atmosphere calm and relaxing. She didn't have any inspiration at the moment because her as she says 'muse' wasn't present. John Deacon, her childhood and current best friend was her main inspiration and she never knew why. John didn't mind it. He would take advantage sometimes and pose ridiculously, hoping she'd sketch him. She rolled her eyes at the memory of John posing with a bowl of fruit, in an attempt to get 'some good art' for her plain flat. For an artist who doesn't even bother showing up to her class most of the time, you'd expect her flat to be filled with art pieces. It was quite the opposite with her. Just as the pencil was going to touch the paper, her front door swung open and she shot up, grabbing a pillow as a defense weapon."Aura!" John's peaceful yet excited voice beamed as he ran towards the kitchen, assuming she was there. She let out a deep breath, her hand over her chest.
"Jesus Christ John! You scared the living hell out of me! I thought you were... a murderer of some sort."She said, catching John's attention as he turned around with a goofy smile plastered on his face.
"Yes, it is I, John Richard Deacon. A serial killer who loves to stab people at-"He looked at his watch "3:02 PM." He laughed and she threw her pillow at him and let out a little laugh.
"Were you going to defend yourself with a pillow?"He said, replacing the pillow on the couch. She pushed him playfully and laughed. She looked at him. He had clearly brushed his long hair and possibly even trimmed the split ends? He wore a black and white blouse that was tucked in his black pants and he had a leather jacket over his shoulders. An excited smile danced on his face. Her eyebrows furrowed in confusion.
"Why so fancy Mister Deacon? Got a hot date?" She asked, putting away her sketchbook. John shook his head.
"You actually forgot?"He said, sounding a little sad. Aura was even more confused now.
"Me and the lads are playing at your favorite local pub. It's my first show with them." John cleared up. Her eyes widened and her mouth made an O shape as she remembered John telling her the specific date and her writing it down somewhere.
"Oh! That's today? I need to get ready!" She said, standing up and basically running to the bathroom. John chuckled and went to the kitchen, making himself something to eat. Aura washed up quickly in the shower and proceeded on taking half an hour to shave her legs, making John impatient. She decided to wear her hair down, letting her natural curls take over and painted her face slightly with some eyeliner and mascara. After satisfied with her makeup, she went to her room and looked through her wardrobe. She sighed in defeat, not having any idea on what to wear.
"John!"She yelled out, hearing a thug and assuming he fell from the couch. She laughed to herself as he appeared in her room, looking slightly pissed.
"I was taking a nap."He barked. She let out a laugh. She pointed to three different outfits that laid on her bed. His eyes trailed to the three different options and raised an eyebrow.
"Wow. You were gonna put that skirt with that shirt? Thank God I'm here to help you, Aura. You'd look like a mess." He said while looking at different options in her closet. She smiled as he inspected her options.
"Any girl would be so happy to be married to you. Tell me once again why you don't have a girlfriend, John?" She teased, putting her head over his shoulder and looking at what he was doing.
"Cause I'm too shy to talk to any other girl than you." He said, focussing on his current task. Aura let out a laugh.
"Hell if I weren't your best friend, I'd marry you." She said, hugging his side. He laughed.
"You need to go shopping." He said before handing her a floral dress that fell right above her knees and hugged her curves well. She eyed the dress before looking at John.
"How fancy do you want me to be?"She said with a laugh, grabbing it and searching for some earrings on her desk. She found a pair of small golden ones and put one of them on. John shrugged.
"Well, I don't want you to look like a mess while meeting my mates." He said casually, sitting down on her bed.
"What!"She exclaimed, suddenly stabbing her ear with the earring and letting out a curse word. John laughed.
"I have to meet them?"She said, turning to face him. He nodded, not seeing the problem.
"Now I'm stressed out." She breathed out. John laughed and ran a hand through his curly hair and mumbled something.
"Roger is kinda stressful sometimes." He said with a chuckle. She let out a heavy sigh and took the hanger, walking towards her bathroom to change and grabbed a pair of shoes at the same time.
