"Astrophysics you say?" Aura asked as her and Brian walked down the busy street. It was dark but peaceful. Not too windy but yet just cool enough. Diner went by nicely. He had taken her to this nice little restaurant which she said was too fancy for her liking but he laughed it off. They had talked about their interests and more basic date stuff and split the check like promised. Brian was now walking her home, taking his sweet time to enjoy their date before it ended. He turned to her and nodded, his hair bouncing as he walked.

"Yes indeed. It's quite fascinating to be completely honest. I've always had an interest on the cosmos. Not to worry though. I won't bore you with facts." He said with a small laugh and she rolled her eyes playfully, nudging him slightly to which he laughed again.

"Hey I'm sure it's not boring." She said and walked slightly closer to him. He hummed in response and looked down at her hand, biting his lip before his fingers entangled with hers. She looked down and gave his hand a squeeze before looking up to see that he was already focused on her face.

"Well then perhaps one day I could give you a lesson." He said almost whispering. She nodded slowly and stood still, not knowing what to do. Her heart was beating quickly but not in the 'I'm about to kiss this beautiful guy!' way but actually in the 'Oh fuck I think he's going to kiss me.' way. She took notice that he was going to raise his other hand, probably to hold her face and panicked.

She quickly brought her arm over to her face and coughed awkwardly, breaking the moment immediately. She avoided his gaze as she kept 'coughing' and Brian pulled away, standing there waiting for her to be alright.

"Are you alright?" He asked, grimacing slightly and she turned red, wanting to die of embarrassment. She looked at him and forced a weak smile to which he returned slowly after.

"I uh. Yeah. Sorry about that." She rambled. She looked out at the streets and noticed the familiar surrounding. They were getting close to her house and she mentally thanked the Gods she wouldn't have to deal with much more awkwardness that she had just created. They continued walking in silence, avoiding each other's glances as they approached her street.

"Sorry for uh, coughing and ruining that. I panicked." She said truthfully, looking at Brian who smiled lightly.

"It's alright. Wasn't the right moment I suppose." He glanced at her and put his hand on her shoulder in a respectful way. She sucked in her breath and looked at the ground, cringing at her behaviour. Brian felt her tense under his touch and removed his hand, walking alongside her. As they reached her house, their pace slowed down and she turned to him, her heart beating quickly.

"Thank you for taking me out tonight! I had fun overall." She said, laughing at the last bit. He laughed as well and smiled.

"Anytime. I had fun as well. We should do it again someday." He said, his heart beating quickly as well. He hoped she wouldn't reject him and tell him to leave her alone, which was usually the case for him when he asked a woman out. She forced a smile once again and nodded.

"Yes of course." She gently said and took ahold of his hand, giving it a slight squeeze before walking away.

"Good night, Brian." She looked at him and smiled as she approached her door, him still standing where she left him.

"Good night, Aura." He simply responded, starting to walk in the opposite direction. She shook her head and sighed, unzipping her purse and took her keys out, struggling to find the right one before unlocking the door and stepping inside.

'They must have gone out by the back door then.' She thought as she closed the door behind her. She put her purse down and took off her shoes, or basically kicked them off. As she was walking towards her kitchen to grab a drink she heard shuffling. She turned to see Roger sitting on her bar stool with papers and pens.

"The shit- What the fuck, Roger?" Aura yelled and grabbed a spatula off the counter, holding it up to defend herself as a reflex. Roger jumped slightly and got up from the stool, nearly tripping it over and put his arms up in surrender before letting out a quiet laugh.

"A spatula can't hurt me, love." He said and she sighed, letting go of the spatula while Roger lowered his arms. She held a hand to her heart and closed her eyes for a second before turning to him.

"Why the hell are you here?" She asked, opening the fridge and grabbing a soft drink. He sat back down and looked at her.

"Well your friend and Freddie left because they were tired and he asked me to stay here and wait till you get back. I personally didn't want too but Freddie threatened to cut my hair in my sleep if I didn't. And I can't loose my beautiful hair!" Roger explained, panicking towards the end of his phrase, running a hand in his golden locks like it was the end of the world. Aura gave him a confused look before taking a sip of her drink, taking a seat next to him.

"Mhm." She nodded before putting the can down and resting her head on her hands. Roger raised a brow and she groaned loudly.

"What's up with you?" He said, turning his body towards her. She turned to look at him and noticed his genuine interest and sighed.

"That may have just been the weirdest, most embarrassing date of my life." She said and Roger grew more confused. What did Brian do?

"What happened?" He asked, pushing away his papers and giving her his full interest. She bite the inside of her cheeks before giving in and telling him.

"Well everything was going well. We had a lovely dinner that was, in my opinion too fancy but it was fine. And then he walked me back home." Roger furrowed his brows.

"Well that's not weird at all." He started before she interrupted him.

"I'm not done." She took a pause and Roger nodded.

" Well he stopped at some point and he went to kiss me and for some reason I felt somewhat grossed out or uncomfortable and so I coughed right when he was about to kiss me." She explained and Roger laughed out loud, grabbing a hold of his chest as he closed his eyes. She glared at him as he nearly choked on his laugh.

"Alright calm down. It's not that funny." She said, a bit pissed off at his reaction, to which he shook his head as he calmed down, catching his breath.

"Oh wow. That's hilarious." She frowned and punched his shoulder, laughing a bit. He took a look at her and smiled.

"To be honest, love. That's not that bad. I've had worse. My first date was so humiliating for many reasons. Far worse than an awkward non-existing kiss." He said, his hand on her shoulder, to which she smiled.

"Really? It's not that bad?" She asked and Roger smiled.

"Not at all! I'm telling you, you'll get over it soon enough." He reassured her. She looked at her hands and nodded.

"Thank you... Roger." She said, looking at him to which he smirked.

"Anytime, doll." She sighed happily before getting up and walking to the cabinet where she kept her alcohol liquids. She pulled out the first bottle she could find and two shot glasses. She slid one over to Roger who smiled happily.

"Now please explain to me the story of your first date." She said, pouring the liquid in the glasses. He shook his head, signalling no while she laughed.

"Nope. Not telling you." He said before taking the glass and bringing it to his lips as she did the same, both swallowing the burning drink.
