Chapter 21: The Reunion

One step, out from the countless ones from the tedious journey that took us weeks, and finally this signals the end of our travels.

Or at least, for now it does.

The draft came rolling pass my legs, as if to gloat like a billowed dust cloud as we entered the streets of Libera Kingdom; a refreshing way to enter the city we traveled all across the country for. The ground was covered with huge polished stones, looking like overgrown dirt-colored mushrooms that gave the road a rather bumpy texture.

The warm winds of summer does not justify the dry hot weathers from the outskirts of the city which we came from. It wasn't even a desert nor any sort of dry plains but the temperature beats down mercilessly against my skin, laden with the hot greasy scents of roasting spice-coated meats mixed with powdery-sweet waffles that lingers in the air by the roadside— particularly from the street vendors— as we walked from the main gates and further into the city.
