14 || Medical ninja

Boruto: Naruto next generation ep 11

I sat there quietly as I listened to Boruto babble on about all the experiences he had with the monster, he keep mentioning that only he could see it. If I was a normal person I would probably think he had gone crazy.

I nodded to his exclaims when I hear footsteps approaching us, I turn my head to the side to see Shikadai and the new kid Mitsuki walking towards us.

"What happened? Is Sumire okay?" Shikadai asked.

"She's fine" I answered.

"If only I got there faster Sumire wouldn't get hurt" Boruto blamed himself.

"Don't blame yourself like that, it's not your fault" Shikadai tried to cheer him up, Boruto let out a sigh and leaned on his knees with his arms.

"It's not that, if I hadn't delivered the mail so carelessly we could have had all of today to patrol. Then maybe we would've noticed something happening at the water purification plant, right?" Boruto spoke.

"Even if you had the whole day to patrol, the three of you can't patrol the whole village. It's bitter but it's the truth, you can't prevent these incidents from happening. And we're just kids, you seem to forget that Boruto" I replied to him, he glanced at me before looking down on the floor.

"Boruto" someone called his name, my head turned to the direction of the voice to see uncle Naruto approaching us.

"Uncle" I greeted him, he gave me a small smile and slightly patted me on my head before a stern look formed on his face as he stared down at his son.

"Dad, what are you doing here?" Boruto asked, puzzlement clear in his voice.

"We heard you rescued the class rep and the others, thank you" Shikadai thanked him and bowed down to show his respect.

"You're after the ghost too, right dad? If you know something, let us in on it" Boruto stated, Naruto didn't say anything but instead pinched on Boruto's ears and started to drag Boruto with him.

Shikadai, Mitsuki and I stared at each other before we reluctantly followed after the dad and son duo. When we neared two metal doors they automatically opened as they recognised our presence.

I stepped inside the room and my eyes widened as I saw what was behind the glass, "is that mom? What is she doing?" I asked as I stepped closer to the glass to observe. She was healing a man that looked like a raisin.

"Look carefully, that's the person who attacked your classmates. The chakra in his body has been almost totally depleted. Listen, it's sheer luck that you've been safe all this time during these incidents, that's all. This is no longer a matter for kids playing detective" Naruto told us.

"I know that!" Boruto suddenly exclaimed out, I turn around to look at what was happening in from behind. Naruto and Boruto was arguing, it kind of reminds me of those days when I traveled with dad. I used to get so annoyed when he shoved me to the sideline cause he believed I wasn't strong enough to beat a few rogue ninjas, I scoffed to myself and turned back around to look at mom working.

Dad told me mom is the top medical ninja in Konoha, she was also the apprentice of the fifth hokage; Tsunade, a descendant from the Senju clan and one of Konohagakure's Sannin.

I watch in amazement as she healed up the crippling man, when I get home I'll ask her to teach me medical ninjutsu.

The door to the room opened and caught my attention, in the reflection of the glass I see Shino step inside. I better get out of here, I believe this is some family issues.

"I'll be leaving then" I say and stepped towards the exit.

"Already?" Shikadai asked, I smiled and nodded.

"Oh uh, by the way uncle Naruto. Do you know where I can meet mom after she's done working?"

"It's down that corridor, to the left and then right. You'll see two white doors, you can wait outside there" I bowed down to the hokage then to Shino before I left.

I followed after Naruto's directions, I turned the corner to see two big white doors. I sat down on a bench outside and waited for mom to be done with her work.

Two hours went by and as I twirled my kunai in my hand the doors finally opened, the man that was in a critical stage earlier look much healthier. They trolled him away to a hospital room and mom stepped out from the room looking exhausted.

"Mom" I called for her, her head raised before a big smile spread across her face.

"Sarena, What are you doing here?" She asked as she approached me, we side hugged and I followed after to wherever she was going.

"I was waiting for you, the hokage showed me how you healed up that man. It was so cool" I beamed, I hear mom giggle and I feel her hand pat me on my head.

"I want you to teach me!" I exclaimed out and took a huge step in front of mom, she stopped in her tracks with widened eyes.

"Teach you what?" She tilted her head to the side.

"Medical ninjutsu, what else?" I respond.

"Hmm, I've never taught anyone yet. This'll be interesting though" I hear her mumble.

"So?"

"Sure honey, I'll teach you everything about being a medical nin."
