Making herself come down to the ground was no easy task. She wasn't wearing any shoes at the moment, she had always hated the feeling of grass against her toes. It felt like a thousand ants crawling on her toes, and she hated every second she had to stand in it.
"Helena, I was wondering where you had gone," the voice said, and she turned herself around to see who it was, not entirely being able to place the voice.
"Oh, it's just you," she said, her voice full of disappointment as she stared her older brother in the face.
"What?" he asked confused. "Are you not happy to see me?"
"Not particularly. For the record, you don't have to take me shopping. I could take the bus and go myself," she said, walking towards the front door to put on some shoes and do exactly that.
"Come on, Helly," he said, following her towards the door. "You know Mom won't let you go alone. You could get hurt, and you don't know any magic to protect yourself."
"And since when do you care, Salazar?" Helena asked him bluntly as she reached the door. He cringed at the use of his full name.
For whatever reason, their mother had a fascination with Hogwarts, especially its founding. So, despite the fact that her kids lived in the twenty first century, she decided it would be a great idea to name her kids after historical figures.
Helena had gotten off easy, but her two older brothers and little sister had it a little rougher. Her oldest brother was named Salazar, and though he prefered just Zar. Of course, Helena didn't like listening to him and what he wanted, especially after everything that had happened.
The youngest after that was her other brother Merlin, who was her favorite of her siblings, and who she wished would take her school shopping. It was just too bad he was only thirteen, and still too young to take her anywhere, according to their mom.
The youngest was her sister Guinevere, who was only seven. If Helena was being honest, there wasn't much to say about her. They weren't very close at all.
"Helena, please just listen to me," Salazar demanded of her. She turned around from opening the door.
"Fine, you have my attention," she said, crossing her arms, and hoping that would be quick so they could get this whole trip over with.
"You know I didn't mean to hurt you, right?" he pleaded.
"No, I don't know that. All I know is that you left in the middle of the night after saying all of that to Mom," she said, turning away from him.
"But I'm back now. I didn't mean any of it. I was just angry. It's been hard on all of us since Dad left. I shouldn't have said any of that to Mom. I just wanna make everything right again. Can you just forgive me?" he asked.
"No, not after what you said. I'm just gonna try to go school shopping with Merlin. Mom knows he's more responsible than you anyway."
And with that, she walked inside, and slammed the door, leaving Zar stuck outside, with no desire to go in.
