Notification | Calum Hood (SLOW UPDATES)

Chapter 1 - The Concert

The blaring sound of screams was nothing out of the ordinary when it came to attending another sold out concert of my favorite band. There was something that felt different about tonight's concert than any other one I attended before. Even one of my best friends, Katelyn believed it was. After all it was the holiday season and wasn't the holiday season all about miracles?

My eyes followed the every move of this one specific member on stage. I love the way the colored spotlights hit him perfectly while he passionately strummed the strings on his bass. It was as if, Calum knew exactly how to grasp any girls' attention in the crowd with the way he played up there. He effortlessly did that with me, it always drove me crazy. He reached this particular riff in one of their songs that always sent chills down my spine.

The feeling of my racing heart was a given that I was hopelessly way too into him but I knew I was completely out of his league. I was in a complete daze when someone sitting in the nearest seat startled me.

"Kiah! I got a surprise for you later on or... well hopefully I do", Katelyn murmured while her eyes fixated on the blonde haired lanky boy, Luke, staring down at her from the stage.

A surprise? I always hated surprises.

"Okay, what is it?" I mentioned with a worried look on my face.

"It wouldn't be a surprise if I said anything, would it? So just wait and see", Katelyn said with a sly smirk on her face.

As the final song finished, the four lads thanked the crowded and scurried their way backstage to get ready to leave to the airport onto their next destination.

Being dragged by the arm, Katelyn rushed me through a swarm of people as there arena lights turned on.

"Come on Kiah, let's try to catch the boys before they leave! I want to say goodbye to Luke!"

Waiting in the cold brisk of night, I finally caught a glimpse of each boy one by one before seeing Calum being the last one into the SUV. My heart dropped. There was something about Cal that made him different then any other guy out there I ever had interest in. I was determined to figure out why. Yet with the amount of attention and fame they were getting, it was hard to even get close to him in any sort of way. Whether it was in person or simply online through twitter, there was no way I was going to get noticed.

Can't I magically be able to feel important by someone like him?

The annoying sound of the beeps of my phone went off and I looked over grumpily at my alarm clock. It was 2 am. Who would ever keep bothering me at this hour? I looked over at my lock screen and to my surprise.

You have 50+ notifications on Twitter.

Katelyn texted, "OMFG KIAH! WAKE THE F*CK UP! YOUR SURPRISE IS WAITING ONLINE!"

I immediately opened my application to see tons of replies from people I didn't know congratulating me and telling me I was lucky. I was confused until I saw some replies that literally sent me flying off my bed.

@Calum5sos: @KiahCastillo Hey! Just wanted to say you are really cute. Following u now. X cal

@Calum5sos: @KiahCastillo Sorry if this is super late in the night and you were sleeping. Have a good night. I hope you liked the show!

My eyes widen by the sight of those replies. I felt like I was getting tricked. I was on the verge of tears when I decided I needed to reply back quickly to him before anyone else.

@KiahCastillo: @Calum5sos Omg Cal! You are the sweetest! And of course I had a blast tonight. You were great up on stage. Thanks for the follow love. <3

Tears were flowing down my tired face, and I texted back the one person who probably made this all possible..

Kiah: OMFG KATELYN WAS THAT WAS YOUR SURPRISE? HOW? WHAT? WHY? OMFG! I'M DYING IN THE INSIDE.

Katelyn: Yes it was! I ran into Calum backstage when I was helping for work. I might have mentioned how you liked him quite a lot and gave him your twitter handle to follow you. Now go talk to him!

Kiah: Like he will ever reply aga---

Kiah: OMFG KATELYN HE DIRECT MESSAGED ME!

I quickly open the notification for the direct message and saw:

@Calum5sos: Oh so you are awake?! Hi!

@KiahCastillo: Hi Cal! Yeah I was asleep but I got all these notifications on my phone, I had to wake up.

@Calum5sos: I'm so sorry! I should have waited until a better hour. We can DM each other later. Get some sleep cutie.

Did he just call me cutie again? Way to make me feel like I'm on cloud 9, Cal Pal.

@KiahCastillo: Haha, no it's cool. By the way you are the cute one.

@Calum5sos: Haha. Thanks. I wish I saw you tonight or wished we knew of each other sooner.

Sigh. Same Cal, same.

@Calum5sos: Your friend, Katelyn told me about your username so I saved in on my phone to check later. I just remembered now and checked your profile out.

@KiahCastillo: Oh that Katelyn. I swear to god. But seriously this means a lot.

@Calum5sos: Hey, well I am about to catch a flight. Why don't you store my number in your phone, it will be easier to keep in touch with each other: xxx-xxx-xxxx

DID THE CALUM HOOD OF 5SOS GIVE ME HIS ACTUAL DIGITS? I JUST...

@Calum5sos: I'm going to put you under as Kiah Cutie instead of Castillo. :)

@KiahCastillo: HAHAHA! Shut up Cal. Real smooth.

@KiahCastillo: Whatever. Haha, go to on your flight now, I'm going to bed.

My eyes were glossed over from all my tears and I couldn't wipe this ridiculous smile off my face. I actually felt important and loved for once. Who knew?
