Lenalee set the coffee mug on her brother's desk and sat down on the couch between Lavi and Kanda. Komui sipped the warm fluid and put it back down. "Your next assignment will be different than the others, but it will be much more difficult than the others as well." he started. Komui pulled down the map and pointed to Paris, France. "Your job is to escort a general all the way to the Asia branch so that he can deliver something." Komui continued.

"Can't we use the Ark?" Lenalee asked. Komui shook his head. "The Ark is not an option for this general." he answered. They all looked at him curiously. Komui waved his hand dismissively and they left. "I wonder which general it is." Lenalee pondered. Lavi snickered. "Maybe it's Cross." he said. Lenalee laughed as Kanda rolled his eyes.

They got off the train and went straight to the meeting place, a restaurant in the middle of town. Kanda opened the door and a waiter came to tend to them. They showed him the rose cross on their jackets and the waiter immediately showed them to a private room. Waiting there was a girl, about Kanda and Lavi's age, sat at the table. She looked Asian so her hair was the color black and was short with a streak that was dyed white which covered her left eye. She wore the coat of an exorcist and pants that were tucked into her boots. Her right eye was silver, but the other was covered so they couldn't see what color it was exactly.

She gave off an unfriendly aura despite her attractive looks. The girl studied them carefully. They all sat down and awkward silence filled the air around them. "Um... well, I'm Lavi, she's Lenalee, and he's-" Lavi said. "Kanda Yu" the girl finished. Lavi and Lenalee looked surprised. "I have heard a few things about you three. I'm Iris" she explained. Her stare lingered on Kanda and a sign of recognition flickered in her eye but she said nothing. The quiet awkwardness returned.

Lavi cleared his throat, catching everyone's attention. "So, uh, which general are we suppose to be protecting?" he asked. Iris didn't answer. After a few minutes or so, the door opened. In walked a 18 year old boy. His pure white hair had been put into a loose ponytail and in his arms was a jacket of a general. A red scar shaped like a pentacle ran down the left side of his face.

It was Allen Walker.
