A blast of light blinded both the exorcists and Akuma. When it stopped, in the middle was Iris. The gloves on her hand were gone, revealing matching marks on each hand. A cross was wrapped around the middle finger and the end went up her wrist and disappeared under her sleeve. Two matching guns were in her hands, each one connected by a chain which wrapped around Iris's arms but didn't touch them.
The Akuma hesitated at first but charged anyway. Iris pointed her guns at them and fired at incredible speed. They were all so distracted, none of them seemed to notice the Akuma creeping up behind Lenalee. "Lenalee!" Lavi cried.
The Akuma exploded. Lenalee looked at Iris. What type was her weapon? They came from the tattoos on her hands. Before they knew it, the battle was over.
Iris's guns disappeared. She staggered but Allen quickly caught her as if he knew that would happen. Lenalee rushed forward despite what just happened. "Lets get to a hotel" Allen suggested. And they did. After putting Iris into to bed, the other 4 exorcists discussed about what just happened.
"I've never seen anything like that before. Exactly how did she do that?" Lavi asked. Allen sighed. "Iris is... a special case. I'm suppose to escort her to the Asia branch for further information. As you can see, many Akuma are after her." he explained. "Is she parasitic? Or-" Lenalee said. Allen nodded.
"The thing is, Iris is partially parasitic and crystal type. She has an unusual amount of power too." Allen continued. "By the way," he looked at Kanda, "why would you tell Iris to use her Innocence when you already knew what would happen to her?"
"Wait, you knew Iris?" Lenalee asked Kanda. Kanda bit his lip but nodded. "We met at a hospital supported by the Order. My assignment was to guard her." he explained.
Flashback
"Huh? You want me to be someone's body guard?" Kanda asked baffled. "Yes, but it is for only a month." Komui said.
"A month! That's too long! Why would I guard an exorcist?"
Komui pushed up his glasses. "The information about her is being withheld from me except for the fact the Earl of Millennium is after her." he explained. The Earl! He hasn't been active for many years; why would he make a move now? Kanda sighed and nodded. An assignment was an assignment.
And so off to the hospital he went. "Room 150" Kanda murmured. He quickly navigated the room. He turned the gold colored knob. Inside, were clean painted white walls with a painting of flowers framed on the wall. A drawer was right beside the door and the nightstand was next to the bed. A glass of water sat beside a small stack of books and a lamp.
On the bed was a girl about his age. She was Asian with a streak of white in her hair. Over her left eye she wore a doctor's eyepatch. Bandages wrapped around her arms and hands. She looked up briefly but looked back down at her book. After awhile she spoke. "Kanda Yu, right?" Iris said. Kanda scowled.
"Just Kanda"
"Ah, I assume you know the rules for guarding me."
"... yes"
Iris didn't look up. "Just in case you forgot, I'll repeat them." she continued. Kanda fumed. This girl pissed him off already! "1:You are not to ask me personal questions about my old life
2:You are not to mention this mission to anyone
3:You are not to ask about my Innocence" Iris glanced at him."Got it?"
Kanda nodded stiffly. And so the long month began.
