Return: Part 3

Allen closed the door behind him and found 3 astonished faces staring at him. It was weird really, he hadn't seen them in 2 years. For some people 2 years was nothing, but for him it felt like forever. Allen smiled warmly and tried to suppress the urge to tackle them into a hug. Lavi, Kanda, and Lenalee made no movement. "Uh, hey?" Allen said. A moment later he himself was being tackled with hugs. It was Lavi and Lenalee of course, not Kanda, but he did give Allen a thump on the back.

"Dude, where have you been for the last 2 years?" Lavi asked. Allen smiled sheepishly.

"Just away"

Lenalee had burst into tears and had her face buried in Allen's chest while sobbing. Allen put his hand atop her head and slowly revealed her face. "You've grown you're hair back out, huh?" he asked softly. Lenalee nodded while smiling and wiping the tears away. Allen grinned. "Good, you look prettier" he said and winked.

Allen turned to Kanda. "As you can see I've grown taller" he said stiffly and jokingly. It was so funny that even Kanda broke out in a small smile.

Iris cleared her throat. "Sorry to break your happy reunion but we got work to do." she said. They all looked at each other sheepishly and went to work. "So, who's the general?" Lavi asked.

"I am"

Everyone except Iris looked surprisingly at Allen. "What?" Kanda asked. Allen looked down at the golden rimmed jacket in his arms. "My synchro-rate with my Innocence was over 100% therefore I was fit to be a general. As you know I was also sent away because of the awakening of the 14th." he explained. Iris glared at him and Allen winced. Lavi, Kanda, and Lenalee looked at them curiously. Iris sighed and Allen continued.

"I've come to deliver an important package to the Asia branch as Komui must've told you. The Ark is off-limits for me due to, um, a condition of mine... So that's all." he said. They all nodded and stood up. Iris showed them the inn they would all stay in.

Allen quickly changed into his pajamas and jumped onto the bed. Lavi had also finished changing and tried to catch up with him. "So, who's the girl?" he asked, wiggling his eyebrows. Allen shook his head. "I wouldn't flirt with her, she gets scary when you do." Allen replied, shaking.

"And how would you know that?"

"There was this man walking by us in the street and he started hitting on her. The next thing I saw was a half-dead beaten man."

Allen shook even harder. Lavi gawked at him. "How come all the attractive girls are weirdos?" he muttered. "I heard that!" yelled a voice from the other side of the door. Lavi and Allen jumped. The door opened. On the other side was Kanda and Iris. Kanda walked in the room and shut the door behind him.

"Hey Yu" Lavi said. Kanda glared at him.

"What?"

"You seem to know Iris, how's that?"

Kanda shrugged him off. Lavi pouted. "C'mon Yu, you can tell me anything, since we're buddies." he said.
