"Olivia!" Betty's voice calls from the other side of the door. "Are you okay in there?"

I freeze with my hand fingers still in throat, before quickly pulling them out and standing up from my position in front of the toilet. I thought everyone was asleep.

I clear my throat, "I'm fine! I'll be out now." My voice croaks at the send of my sentence, making me clear it again.

"Okay." Betty replies.

I wait until I hear the sound of her footsteps getting quieter and the sound of her closing my bedroom door closing before flushing the toilet and washing my hands.

I spray some air freshener to get rid of the smell of like and rinse my mouth out with mouth wash.

When I open the door, Betty is still in my room and is standing there with a concerned look.

"I thought you left." I state.

"Are you okay?" She asks, concerned. "I heard you throwing up."

"I'm fine. Just had an upset tummy I guess." I shrug. "What's the time?"

"Almost six am." She says. "Are you sure you're okay?"

"I'm sure." I assure her, walking towards my bedroom door and gesturing for her to leave. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to get ready for school."

"Yeah, me too." She sighs.

I close my door behind her, and a second later I hear Betty's door close too.

I strip out of my white satin pyjamas and stand in front of the mirror, glad in nothing but a lacy white bra and matching underwear. My hand wanders to my stomach, feeling the bloat from this morning's binge.

After getting home last night, I went for a run, but of course, this morning I had to eat ten times more calories that I had burned off this morning. God, no wonder my own mother doesn't want me.

I wrap my fingers around my upper arm, disappointed when I still can't wrap my fingers all the way around.

My ringtone makes me snap my attention away from my reflection in the mirror. I quickly pick my phone up off of my bed and answer it.

"Hello?" I speak into the phone.

"Hi, Olivia." Toni says.

"Hey, Toni. What's up?" I ask, sitting down at the bottom of my bed.

"I just want to make sure you're okay after yesterday." She says.

"I'm fine." I lie.

Toni scoffs, "Yeah, right."

"I am." I lie as convincingly as possible. "It was just a shock. I'm over it now."

"You tried to kill yourself." She says as if I'm being ridiculous.

I stand up and take a deep breath before answering. "Weeks ago." I correct. "I'm fine, honestly."

"If you need to talk, I'm here." Toni says.

A small smile settles on my lips, "Thank you, Smurfette. I appreciate it. I actually have to go and get ready now but do you want to, like, hang out later?"

"Sure. I'll text you later and you can come meet me at the Whyte Wyrm? " She suggests.

"Okay, yeah. See you later. Bye." I reply, hanging up.

I throw the phone back on my bed, before walking over to my wardrobe and pulling out a black mini skirt, white turtleneck and a pair of white ankle boots and a white coat with a black faux fur collar.
