It was nearing the end of my second week here at college. Nothing too exciting had happened. My average day consisted of getting up early, catching up on my social media, so checking up on the world of 5sos and interacting with my fans. Then I would have breakfast with Ella and Thomas, Tessa always seemed to be out, we reckoned she was sleeping at her boyfriends most of the time. The three of us would walk to class, splitting off from Ella at the old fountain. At lunch we would all meet up, sometimes we'd go off campus and grab food out, other times we just enjoyed the last of the summer sun in one of the courtyards. After lunch I would sometimes have classes on some days and if I wasn't I'd find a quiet place to practise some music and write songs. After that we'd meet back at the flat and cook tea together or order takeout and have a night in together or sometimes we'd go to house parties. When I was tucked up in bed I'd call Calum and we'd talk for as long as we could. It was hard though because his life was much busier than mine so the time we could talk got shorter and shorter.
I was currently sat with Ella in an empty art studio. She was doing fine art and she needed a model. So here I was sat on a table, guitar in my hand, posing as she traced an outline of me.
"I don't get why you can't just take a picture and work from that. That's what I did at school," I moaned as I twisted my back to crack the stiffness out.
"Well yes I could, but we gain more marks for doing it this way." She explained as she looked at me with narrowed eyes, concentrating. "Also why have you got a guitar? You play?" She asked.
So here's the thing, it's not like I'm trying to keep my - I guess you could say pop-star (kinda) life - from everyone, it's just never really come up in conversation. I also like I've said multiple times, don't want it to distract my learning here. Which is why I chose not to tell Ella the full story.
"Uh, yeah I have a small YouTube channel, but I don't really use it often anymore," I explained as I strummed a few notes from 'ghost of you,' one of my favourite songs.
"Oh fair enough, how come you decided to do music journalism rather than like an actual music degree?" Ella asked, not looking up from her sketching.
I sighed, "my parents wouldn't have any of it, I was lucky enough to be able to do this degree instead of a medical degree," I huffed.
This time Ella did look up, "So you're parents are one of those," She nodded completely understanding where I was coming from.
I nodded, "yep," I sighed.
I suddenly got a text and Ella said I could move to look. I pulled it out to see a text from Calum, a smile pulled at my lips.
