For the next two days, Jungkook followed the news, watching as his photo flashed across the screen as missing. On the fourth day, he was declared dead although his body was still not found. Jungkook was considered deceased.
He stayed inside as much as he could, fearing if he left he would be confronted again by Taehyung, not truly believing that the demon was done tormenting him. He had wracked his mind everyday, puzzling over why he hadn't been killed with all of the other men that night. He should be dead. He shifted in his bed, letting his mind drift off until sleep claimed him.
Jungkook woke and showered like usual, brushing his teeth and dressing before walking out to the main room of his small apartment, rubbing a towel across his damp hair. He paused, hesitating as he heard the TV was on, but figured he just forgot to turn it off the night before.
He walked out of the hall only to be confronted with a man lounging comfortably on his couch.
Jungkook dropped his towel and stared.
Kim Taehyung was watching the news, boredom etched on his face as Jungkook's photo came up again, the new reporter airing a story on the Choi Mansion fire again.
"I forgot how long humans sleep for..." Taehyung turned to him, picking at his nails disinterestedly. He glanced up, a fiendish glow playing in his eyes "I've been bored. Time for some fun" He grinned, the first time Jungkook had seen the expression on his face.
Jungkook found his voice and managed to force out the first obvious thought in his mind "How did you get in here..."
Jungkook regretted asking as soon as the question left his lips, knowing that it was pointless. He was a demon after all. Taehyung seemed to sense Jungkooks realization and chuckled. He got up from the couch and approached Jungkook, the same fiendish glint sparkling in his gaze.
Jungkook contained the brief flash of fear and stood his ground, refusing to allow the demon to frighten him in his own apartment. He began reciting the words he memorized just the day before on how to banish demons, suspecting that his simple request wouldn't be enough to keep him at bay. Taehyung stopped and Jungkook faltered a moment before continuing, words stronger now with more confidence. Taehyung looked annoyed, then his expression shifted to one of pure anger. He stood frozen for a moment, smoke curling off of his shoulders as if his human form threatened to revert back to the black smoke from which he was made. Jungkook was nearing the end of the scripture line, each word articulately leaving his mouth as if they were daggers being thrown at the demon in front of him.
Abruptly, Taehyung moved forward, legs snapping forward as though he had broken out of a pair of invisible chains. He moved quicker than Jungkook could process and before he knew it his back was pressed firmly against the wall behind him, his words cut off by a set of warm, rugged lips.
His mind panicked and he reached his hands out, shoving the mass that overtook his body. It didnt move however, Jungkook might as well have pushed a wall. Taehyung grabbed on of his wrist, not so gently, and pulled back, teeth lightly scraping across Jungkooks bottom lip. The grip on his wrist tightened even more and twisted until Jungkooks arm was bent behind his back and his cheek was pressed against the wall. The figure behind him leaned in, whispering in his ear.
"Dont ever try that shit with me again or next time i'll go to greater means of shutting your mouth."
The low growl of his voice sent chills down Jungkooks spine and before he knew it, the weight pressing him against the wall was gone. He turned and was not surprised to see that Taehyung no longer there.
