Taehyung felt like he was drowning in Jungkook. His smell; so sweet that it made his head spin, a pure scent that was more addicting than any drug known to man. He had restrained himself, but seeing Jimin lay so much as a finger on him had him seeing red. He killed Jimin and all of his men, but he knew better, they would be back. Demons couldn't die in the human world, only in their own, which made things harder for Taehyung. He wouldn't find him on his own unless he wanted to be found in the endless realm of demons.

Taehyung watched Jungkook closely ever since, he saw how scared he had been, if he had a heart, it would have broken while he held the shaking Jungkook as he fell victim a panic attack at the mere sight of him.

He knew from experience that not many humans can take so much mental trauma in the span of a single month. He was surprised Jungkook was still sane after Jimins handling.

There would be no more games. His first priory now was his safety.

Once he felt Jungkook relax completely in his arms, he let go, forcing himself back away from the enticing boy.

"You need to eat." Was all that Taehyung said before vanishing from the room, dispersing into blackness.

He grabbed what he needed from the nearest convenience store before popping back up in Jungkooks kitchen, glancing over his shoulder at the confused looking boy who was still on the couch.

"What the hell..." was all he heard Jungkook mumble before he stalked out of the room, the sound of the showering running a few minutes later indicated his whereabouts.

Taehyung worked for about 30 minutes, whipping up a simple meal. About 15 minutes in Jungkook had made his way back out, towel rubbing at his damp dripping hair.

Taehyung resisted the urge to let his meal burn while he watched the boy, eyelashes still dark with the water that ran in rivulets from his hair down his neck and jaw before disappearing into his dampening t-shirt.

He instead worked faster, knowing that humans needed to eat and his human hadn't eaten in at least 3 days. He suspected more considering the lack of food in the fridge.

The salmon was done cooking in its honey-soy glaze and Taehyung placed it gingerly along side freshly steamed rice and snow peas. It was simple but should provide enough nutrients for him.

He served a wide eyed Jungkook feeling slightly smug. Jungkook looked up from the plate, to him, back down to the plate.

"Wha...."

Taehyung grinned, proud of himself although it was silly. "What, a demon cant be a damn good chef?" Jungkook swallowed "I just... didn't think..."

Taehyung changed to a gentler tone. The kid didn't know much about demons at all, and the little he did know was all death and pain. Some of it partly his fault.

"I have had many, many years to practice." was all Taehyung said, hoping the conversation wouldn't turn in the direction he suspected.

"Taehyung... how old are you?" Taehyung sighed, knowing this question would come up eventually, as it always did with humans. He didn't blame them. They were mortal and life was fleeting. They couldn't comprehend how utterly lonely and horrible immortality is.

"I'll be 223 in a few months..."

Jungkook spit of some of the rice he had shoveled into his mouth

"You.. What the actual fuck?!" Jungkook drank his glass of water, clearing his choking throat and giving Taehyung a moment to think before commenting on the age topic, not wanting things to go further.

"Yes, but there are still some older than me." Taehyung paused a moment, distaste coloring his features "Jimin is older than me slightly. We have known each other a very log time. Even used to be friends at one point..."

Jungkooks eyes hardened and he continued to eat his food, humming slightly at the taste. He ate fast, obviously starving, stuffing his cheeks to the point he looked like a small chubby bunny.

Taehyung felt an emotion not so far off from guilt. A kid like this shouldn't be involved in this world. He should be out partying with friends, getting a girlfriend, pursuing a career. No begging to die so that his fear and suffering would go away. Taehyung had forgotten what humanity was like, having been away for so many decades. He turned, not able to look at the boy in front of him.

"Ill be back later. Do not leave this apartment." And with that, he left him alone once again.

Jungkook finished his food, going for seconds of the delicious fish and rice combo. He had been genuinely surprised at Taehyungs ability to cook. A thought briefly tickled his mind.

I wonder who he cooked for to practive so much if demons don't eat human food...

Jungkook felt uneasy as soon as Taehyung left, constantly jumping at the slightest shadow in the corner of his eye. His heart pumping in panic every time he turned his back. Jungkook ended up hiding out in his room until the night began to roll in. He hurriedly got ready for bed, already tired though he had slept for so long the past few days. He brushed his teeth, changed into a lose fitting t shirt for maximum comfort and his boxers before climbing into bed. Making sure to draw the sheets up over his head so that no monsters could get him. He felt like an idiot. He was a grown ass man acting like a child. But now he knew that real monsters existed, a sheet would do nothing to stop them from ripping every limb from his body if they wanted. Jungkook kept thinking about everything he'd learnt that day. He paused, an odd thought playing though his head before he tugged on his t shirt collar and bent his nose down to sniff. He frowned. I don't even smell like anything...

Jungkook kept his fear at bay by allowing his mind to wander aimlessly and eventually sleep found him again.

With his eyes sealed shut, images began to take over once again.

The smell of garbage while an impish smile pays across a blond haired boys features, except the teeth turn razor sharp and Jungkook yells in pain, looking down to see a long trail of blood pouring from his hand. He looks around, yells and screams filling the air and no longer is he in the alley way, but the basement of the Presidents mansion, fire licking up the walls while a dark figure approaches him, reaching out until his cold hand is grasped firmly around his neck and strangling him against the wall. He tries to yell out, desperate for air-

Jungkook gasps awake at the feeling of hands rubbing down his back. He freezes, breathing picking up at the unfamiliar touch but relaxes when he hears the soft shushes that are undoubtedly familiar. Jungkook allows himself to be held, Taehyungs arms wrapping around him protectively.

Jungkooks mind keeps thinking back to his dream and cant seem to relax. He was letting the same man, no, demon, who slaughtered multiple people, touch him and hold him. He shouldn't be okay with that fact, but his body reacted, his mind slowly drifting back off now that he was safe from the monsters that lurked in the dark. Safe because of one of those monsters. He drifted off to sleep, his last thought of how Taehyung was so pleasantly warm against him, so different from the cold unforgiving grasp of his dream.
