Chapter 7 "Where Are You"

Christmas and New Year's have come and gone.
McKenna and McCoy threw a fit and wanted to stay with Shaylynn until after the new year which didn't sit well with David.

When Connor made it back to work after a few days off after Christmas, Ms. Goodwin informed him that an anonymous donation was made for his Hybrid OR.

A month has gone by.
Connor is in his Hybrid OR checking out all the new equipment and adjusting a few things.
"Well, well," he hears come from behind him.
He turns around to see Ava standing there, "Santa sure was generous to bring all the money you needed," she says with a pissed off look on her face.

"You just can't stand that I'm happy in my work and personal life can you?!" Connor says, "Anyways, shouldn't the ice queen be up on her floor?" he asks giving her a look. 

Ava looks at him pissed, "I would love to know who donated five million dollars!" she says.
"Whoever it is I'm sure they didn't have to sleep with my Father for it! Now if you don't mind I have to get ready for the media" Connor tells her.
"I told you I did that for us so you would stay!" Ava shouts at him.
The other people in the Hybrid OR put their stuff down and walk out.
Connor watches them, then turns his attention back to Ava, "And I could just imagine how Christmas get-togethers would have been with you ending up in bed with my Father! No thanks!"
Ava's furious! She turns around and storms out.
Connor gets a huge smile on his face.

A few hours later, Shaylynn's walking into the ED and sees all the reporters waiting around to see the Hybrid OR.
Maggie sees her and walks over, "Would you like for me to get Connor for you?" she asks Shaylynn.
"No, he has enough going on right now," Shaylynn tells her, "But thanks for asking. I'll grab him when all this is over with."
Maggie looks at her and smiles.
Connor comes out of the Doctor's lounge and starts the presentation of the Hybrid OR.
Shaylynn makes sure she stays all the way in the back so he can't see her.
Connor leads the reporters around showing them everything and answering all their questions. 

Shaylynn can't help but to look at him and how hot he is with his white doctor's coat on. Then she starts imagining him wearing it with nothing underneath and gets a huge smile on her face.

An hour later, the presentation is over.
Connor breathes a sigh of relief as the reporters leave.
Ms. Goodwin walks up to him, "Good job!" she says as she pats him on the shoulder.
He watches her walk away as Will walks up to him, "There's someone in the Doctor's lounge you need to talk to," Will tells him.
Connor rolls his eyes, "I thought I was done with all the reporters!" he says as he walks toward the lounge.
Will gets a huge smile on his face.

Connor walks into the lounge not paying attention, "What can I do for you?" he asks.
"I think you know what you can do for me!" Shaylynn says.
He gets a huge smile on his face and hurries over to her and starts kissing her.
"How long have you been here?" Connor asks her.
"A little over an hour," she tells him.
"You were here for the presentation?" he asks surprised.
"Yes, I enjoyed it," she tells him, "I especially enjoyed the dirty thoughts I was having of you in your doctor's coat with nothing on underneath it."
Connor gets a huge smile on his face, "We need to go back to our closet!" he tells her.
Shaylynn smiles, "And why's that?" she asks.
"Because I want to feel myself between your legs," he tells her then starts kissing her neck.
Shaylynn closes her eyes enjoying the feeling of Connor's lips on her neck and his beard rubbing against her jawline.
"You need to stop," she tells him.
"Why?" he asks her going back to kissing her neck.
"Because if you don't, I'm going to fuck you on this couch and I'm not going to care who walks in!" Shaylynn tells him.
Connor stops, looks her in the eyes, and smiles, "You get right to the point!" he tells her.
"I don't fool around, especially when it comes to sex! I know what I want! I know how I want it and then I take it!" she tells him.
Connor puts his arms around her, "And you can take me anytime!"
Shaylynn smiles and starts kissing him, "I wish you didn't have to work! You have me all horny now!"
Connor starts laughing then hugs her.
Shaylynn looks out the window and sees Ava walking by looking in, staring.
"You know I should really be going so you can get back to work before Ms. Goodwin bans me from the hospital," Shaylynn tells him.
"I don't see her doing that but alright," Connor says, "Can I see you after my shift?" he asks her.
"Call me first, okay. Just to make sure I'm not at work," she says.
"I'll do that," he tells her.
They kiss each other before Shaylynn walks out of the ED.

An hour later, Ava walks into her office not paying attention.
She closes the door then turns toward her desk to see Shaylynn sitting there.
"What are you doing?" Ava asks her.
"Waiting for you!" Shaylynn says as she stands up and walks around the desk toward Ava.
Ava backs up and slams into the door, "What do you want?"
"For you to leave Connor alone!" Shaylynn tells her, "I'm sick and tired of the dirty looks you give him especially when I'm around!"
Shaylynn moves her arms, Ava looks and can see a gun under Shaylynn's jacket, "There are plenty of men in Chicago, find one!" Shaylynn says.
Ava moves to the side so she's no longer in front of the door.
Shaylynn grabs the doorknob, "Don't make me come back and pay you another visit!"
She opens the door and walks out leaving Ava in shock.

After a couple of minutes, Ava leaves her office.
Finally, after ten minutes she finds who she's looking for, "Connor!" she shouts at him.
Connor rolls his eyes, "What do you want now?!" he says to her.
"Shaylynn just threatened me!" she tells him.
He starts laughing.
Ava looks at him confused, "It's true! She was waiting for me in my office!"
"And why should I believe you?" Connor asks her, "Just like you told me you didn't sleep with my Father but low and behold you did! It's a good thing you have that mole on your ass or I might not have believed him!"
"I'm telling you the truth!" Ava tells him.
"Just leave me alone and go back to your ice tower!" Connor tells her then walks away.

Connor's shift is finally over.
While waiting on his Porsche, Connor pulls out his phone.
"Hello," he hears Shaylynn say.
"My shift's over. Where are you?" Connor asks her.
"In your bed," she tells him.
Connor gets a huge smile on his face as the valet pulls up.
He walks around his car, "Have a great night, Dr. Rhodes," the valet tells him.
"Thanks! You too," Connor tells him getting in and driving off.
"You better not disappear before I get there! I have something all ready for you!" Connor tells her.
Shaylynn starts laughing.
