Jack's Pov:
I groan as I wake up, damn I'm tired, someone tell me why I stay up so late reading fan fictions. Oh well guess it's another day unpacking boxes, wait I finished that yesterday. And that means I have my first day of school today oh crap...
I turn over and look at my alarm clock, I gaze in shock at the time. Fuck! It's already 08:15 I have to be at school at the latest 08:45. That old man of mine set my alarm to go at a later time! I'll get him for that.
I rush out of bed and land on the floor with a thud not realising how tired I really was.
Ouch.

Emma's pov:
I hear a familiar thud from upstairs followed by a continues "Crap, crap, crap, crap, crap!" Jack's awake then, I can hear dad chuckling beside me. Dad probably changed his alarm clock those two are always playing pranks on each other. They both take it as a joke never seriously, which is a good thing.
I'm am currently sitting at the kitchen table with dad who is reading the newspaper. I glance at the plate next to me filled with 2 pancakes, whipped cream and cherries. I'd gotten up extra early to make them for everyone seeming though it's mine and Jack's first day at our new schools.
And I knew that he'd stay up late so I put fruit in the pancakes so that they'll give him more energy. I don't know why I bothered really, cause he'll just quickly eat them when he realises that he's late.
I can hear the repeated " Crap, crap, crap" getting louder as Jack makes his way downstairs, whilst probably still shoving his school stuff into his bag.
He rushes into the kitchen, and doesn't even bother to sit down, he picks up the fork next to the plate, that I had so carefully placed on the table then starts to push the pancakes, whipped cream and cherries down his throat as quickly as he possibly can.
I glance at the clock, he got ready in 15 minutes, that's a new record. I then notice that the time is actually 07:30, I start to giggle, dad had set his alarm clock forward many times and he still hasn't learnt. Jack notices me giggling and dad knows that I've caught on and starts to chuckle again.
"What!?" Jack asks with curiosity, as well as a hint of fun which his voice always carries.
"Look at the clock idiot!" I say to him unable to contain my laughter any longer.
He turns around and stares at the clock, whilst dad hides his face in the paper he was reading.
"Dad! You know I'll get you back for this! And you promised you wouldn't do anything on the first day!" he says jokingly but I knew he would eventually get dad back for it.
"I couldn't resist and it got you up in time, you should be thankful" Dad says with sarcasm.
"You should know that prank by now, he's played it on you loads of times now" I state to Jack.
"Yeah, yeah, are there any more pancakes Em? So that I can actually enjoy them" Jack enquires.
I wasn't stupid I knew something like this would happen, so I did make extra. I nod towards Jack and jump of my seat to go fetch them. I head over to the sideboard and place two more pancakes onto his plate which I had brought over with me.
I careful start to decorate the pancakes with whipped cream and cherries, as well as some extra raspberries, one of his favourite fruits. I pick up the plate and place it back in front of Jack.
"Thanks Em"
"You owe me I got up early to make them you know"
"You shouldn't have gone to the trouble, but your pancakes are the best"
