"We meet again"

     "What's cookin' good lookin'" Tyler says walking into my kitchen.
"Well... right here's Buffalo chicken dip, over there are some pork sliders and for dessert, you can start to make some Oreo balls and dip them in orange icing so I can make them into pumpkins" I tell him. "Jamie's going to be here soon so he can help you"

We are all invited to a team Halloween party at coaches  house later. There's going to be games, food, drinks, and it's just somewhere where we can all bond and the kids can all get together to play. Tyler, Jamie, and I are all going as a matching costume. I am a cat while Jamie and Tyler are going to be dressed as mice. It's a simple and not clever idea but we only had a day to put it all together.

About a half an hour later, Jamie comes in my apartment with a huge cooler full of beers and a cheese tray. I order him to start helping Tyler with the Oreo balls. Jamie rolls them into a ball and Tyler dips them into the orange. Later on once they are done in the refrigerator, I will draw the pumpkins faces on them. This is a great dessert especially for the kids.

"So who will all be at this party? Am I even invited?" I blurt out starting conversation. "Like coach hasn't even said a word. He just looks n nods his head like a 'hi'. I don't want to go into his house"
"El, you're apart of the team. Everyone's invited. The whole team, staff, the teams family and friends. Everyone. Don't worry, I'll introduce you to him formally tonight if you want so you don't feel awkward. Spez, Jen and the kids are going to be there. I know you know them all well" Jamie tells me. I feel somewhat better. I heard coaches house is huge they have a pool, basketball court, a guest house, and it's only just him, his wife and their 13 year old son. I bet he's the most famous kid at school knowing all these NHL players.

Coach sent out a message yesterday saying that we can show up anytime after 6. I look at my phone and see it's 5:30 so I tell the guys let's get changed into our costumes. I put on everything black. Black jeans, a black long sleeve shirt, black knee length high heel boots that made the outfit 'sexy'. I left my hair straight down and put on my cat face with eyeliner. Whiskers, nose, cat eyes.
I walk out of the bath room and see Tyler trying to get his pants on. I call them leggings but ty refuses to call them that. He has a gray long sleeve shirt, his gray compressions on, and white shoes. I bought them mouse ears and a tail to make the out fit be pulled all together. The last thing I had to do was their makeup. It was almost like mine but pink.
"I can't believe I'm wearing tights" Jamie says.
"Me either. I don't like my baggage sticking out like this. I feel weird" Tyler chimes in.
"Y'all look cute." I say laughing. I'm not lying, they do.
"Not as hot as you look right now. You know what, how about me and you just stay home and take these costumes off" Tyler says. Jamie looks at us, rolls his eyes and walks out of my room.
"Ew. I'm not used to this" he groans. "Can we go now pleaseee"

Jamie grabs his stuff and Tyler helps me carry the food I made to the car.

Twenty minutes later, we arrive at coaches house. Its huge like a mansion. There's not many neighbors around either and it's in a security neighborhood.
" I don't want to go in first. Jamie, you go" I say backing away from the gated door.
He doesn't even ring the door bell, he just walks in. I follow closely behind and no ones to be found.
"They're probably downstairs" he says. "Let's drop this stuff off in the kitchen."

"Hi boys. How are you guys? I haven't seen you in a while." I hear a lady's voice and heels. We all look back and she brings them into a hug. We make eye contacts and I smile.
"Jamie, hun, you finally got a girlfriend I see here? Hello sweetie, I'm Cathy. It's nice to meet you. There's food and drinks here. Make yourself at home" she says giving me a hug.
When the words 'Jamie- girlfriend' came out of her mouth. We all looked at each other and started saying 'oh no no no'.
"Oh no! I'm not anyone's girlfriend. I actually work for the team. Im their athletic trainer. I just started about a month ago this season." I tell her making sure she knows Jamie's not my boyfriend for sure.
"Sorry about that. Also what is your name?"
"Oh it's fine. sorry" I laugh. "It's Ellie. Ellie Smith." I tell her.
"I'm going to get back downstairs for more wine. Boys, you know where everything is. I'll see you guys soon" she tells Jamie and Tyler and heads off.
