"We meet again"

I was sitting on my couch watching tv and eating some breadsticks like I do now on my Saturday nights. I was alone because most of the girls were at the Stars game here in Dallas to watch the playoff game. If they win, they go on to the Stanley cup finals! But, if they lose, they have to go to Anaheim for another game. It's looking pretty good for them, 4-1 they are winning in the 2nd. I didn't go even though I tried to force myself to but I was having small contractions all day that the doctor told me not to worry about because everyone has contractions that aren't that painful when they are close to their due date. I am 37 weeks and I'm due in about 2-4 more weeks she said the baby can come anytime. I just also wanted to stay home, take a nice shower, watch the game on my couch in my pajamas. I had my feet propped up on the coffee table, the breadsticks box sitting on my stomach and a glass of ice tea in my hand with my hair high up in a messy bun looking like I just woke up.
     I was watching the game, the second period just got over and Jennifer was texting me telling me what Tyler had done and also sent me a video.  A little boy on the glass held up a sign, which I didn't get to read and then Tyler read it and threw his stick up over the glass and also took a photo with the little boy.  I bet I'll be seeing this online pretty soon. I smiled thinking of how he's going to be with our boy.
It felt like I peed my pants but worse than I usually do.  Yes, I'm a pregnant lady, I pee my pants a little bit sometimes. Don't judge. It happens.
I stand up and feel my pajama pants which are soaked. I look down on the couch just hoping I didn't leave a stain because I would be so embarrassed even though it's a thing that pregnant people can't help themselves. There it is. A big circle of wetness on the couch. Oh my god.
I grab my phone and text back Jennifer.
     > I have a question, when you were pregnant did you ever have ya know, accidents. Should I start wearing a diaper?
     < what?  Every pregnant lady pees a lot and sometimes it just comes. Did you pee yourself el haha
     > shhh don't tell anyone.  I just didn't know if it was normal to. I don't want to be embarrassed. But yes I did. I'm soaked. The couch looks like I took a glass of water and threw it on there. It better dry before Tyler gets home. I don't know how to dry it because my hairdryer won't reach lol
     < Ellie... call the ambulance now! You need to get to the hospital el. Your water just broke. You basically just did put water all over the couch. That is NOT pee!! Ill tell Tyler now and I'll meet you at the hospital. Just get there.

I don't freak out or anything. I think she's just over exaggerating. My water didn't break. I swear I just peed my pants. It doesn't really look like pee but I'm pretty sure that's all I did. I'm perfectly fine.

     > jenn, I'm fine. My water didn't break. I'm fine and feel good. I just peed my pants. Again- don't tell anyone!   Have fun at the game I'll be watching from my bed now that my couch is wet.
     < Ellie. I'm serious.  I'm coming over to drive you now. The 3rd period just started. They'll win this and it's not my first rodeo in these playoff games. I seen enough. They got this. We're going to the hospital now. Be there in like 5 minutes. Be ready with your hospital bag packed. Even if you don't think it's anything, just let me take you just for sure. I'll call down to the team and let Tyler know to come.

I ignore her message because I knew she would still come even though I say no hundreds of times.
I put away my breadsticks and put my bag by the front door. I wasn't going to bring it but I knew she would have made me. She's lucky, I was bored earlier so I decided to put somethings together to take when it's really time to go to the hospital.

Soon enough, I heard a knock and she just walked through my door.
"Cmon El. Let's go." She says grabbing my bag off the ground.
"Hold on" I say starting to shut the TV off, and going to the kitchen to grab a water.
"Wait. I don't wanna go like this. Let me fix my hair real quick. And put on a nicer shirt. Oh and my phones in the bedroom on charge." I say walking to my room.
"Ellie" Jenn says feeling the couch with her bare hand. "This is not pee. Your water broke. Oh my gosh. Your water broke! We need to go now. Trust me, I know what it is, looks like and feels like. Let's goo" she yells then runs in my room to grab my phone for me. We start to walk to her car to head to The emergency room.

"What's the score when you left. How much time you think there is?" I ask her.
"Ellie. Text Tyler and call the offices so he can know to come!"
"No I want him to finish this game. You don't know how many more times they'll be in the playoffs or what'll happen.  I'm not having him leave."
"There was 15 minutes left. Still 4-1. Don't worry I already told Jason to tell him ASAP when he gets my message and I called the staff to relay the message"
"Fine. I'll just text him and tell him when we get to the hospital".

     We arrive at the hospital and they had admitted me. Sure enough, my water broke, I was having this baby tonight or early in the morning. It was 9:47 when I was laying in the bed finishing watching the game. 7 minutes left and the score was 4-2. I was getting nervous but knew they could do this.  I texted Tyler.
     > we're having this baby.  My water broke at home. Jenn cane and got me. I want you to finish this game!! Love you.

When the 5 minute mark hit, Tyler was shown on the tv running down the runway back to the locker room.  Did I miss a hit? What happened? 
I hear the analysis on the tv confused too. "There goes Tyler Seguin going to the locker room. We are unsure why but will update you guys soon as we find out why that is. The assistant coach had said something to him and then he got up and went off. We are not sure."

Maybe he found out I was in labor.

       <    I'm on my way. That game isn't as important as this. We won. We got it. Going to the Stanley cup baby.

     Not even 5 minutes he was in the room, he wasn't even all the way dressed. He still had parts of his uniform on. 
We had called our parents and family to let them know so they could be on their way to meet their new nephew and grandson.
When I arrived at the hospital, I was 4 diameters along. Now, I transitioned into 7 and in pain so that's when I got an epidermal shot. At that moment, I didn't want to speak to no one. I just sat up hunched over breathing in and out. 
Jennifer, Jason and Jamie along with Tyler we're in the room but when it was time to push, I only wanted Jennifer and Tyler in with me.

10cm now. Time to have this baby.
"Okay Ellie. This baby wants to come. Are you ready hun. Let's push. Tyler you can help just follow what I say. Jen, you've been throw this so coach her and help her out"
I'm so scared but I can do this.
"Ready.. you're going to push when I count to 3 and let go on 10. Take a deep breath and do it again."
"Ready. 3...2..1.. push Ellie. You can do this. 7...8...9...10... good job momma. You're a pro. You got this. Take a deep breath. 5..6..7..8..9.. and breath. A few more I can see the head. Ready again."
After 4 more big pushes, our baby boy was born. I did it.
