"Good morning Miss Cathy and Miss Emily. It's a pleasure to see you even bothered to show up to school today. The class was starting to wonder wherever you over slept or just that it wasn't scheduled for you day plan." My sinister form tutor said with a cranky and sarcastic wicked smile on her face.

I slowly roll my innocent green eyes to the floor and like a goody-two-shoes reply, "I'm sorry Miss. I didn't mean to be late."

Emily stares at me, her eyes full of disappointment. She rolls her eyes and speaks hopeless words to the teacher,

"Ummm...We can explain!"

"Oh yes, of course you can Emily. You always have something to make up at the last second just to 'skip' out of trouble. It doesn't work with me though! Now yes, you may say your explanation. I bet the whole class is curious to see what you come up with this time." She grins in Em's face. Her face muscles overlap with her many wrinkles.

Ugh, torture to watch for a young person. JUst to imagine how ugly, like her, you will become when you will grow old.

"We were in time when we got onto the tube, but then this crazy guy jumped in front of it and died. The staff took ages to get everything back to normal and scrape the body off the tracks." Em replies without any hesitation.

"Umm....Ok." She replies.

"No miss. I swear I'm not lying!" Em shouts back.

"Well I swear that I am sending you to the head's office this second." She says as she types on her laptop and slowly adjusts her glasses.

"It's the truth. She isn't lying, I was there too to witness." I say

"Well since you admit yourself that you were there too and you agree with this stupid lie, why don't you join Emily in the head's office too? Oh yes, in fact of course you will! I will email the head you two are coming to

explain, without any lying, exactly what happened this morning. Wait 2 minutes and then you can go." She spits back in our faces.

We wait 5 minutes and then she protrudes her arm forward, towards us, and mouths 'go'.

We make our way to the head's office, where he is standing right in front of the door staring at us with, surprisingly, understanding eyes...

"Hello girls. I have received the email from your form tutor, anything to say?" The head-master inquires and slowly lowers his chin to our faces. Suddenly, I realize that his stare is becoming even more intense. He opens the door and lets us in.

There are 2 blue sofa chairs and then a formal desk with a laptop sat on top of it just in front of the chairs.

"Please, take a seat." He pledges as he sits at his desk and starts to take notes. Me and Em stare at his paper, trying to read what he is writing.

"Enough peaking Emily! I think you are in enough trouble already." The head warned Emily.

"I'm sorry Mr Nate." Em mumbled.

Sorry, I forgot to say what our headmaster's name is. He is called, well we have to call him...Mr Nate.

"Ok, enough with the seriousness. What actually did happen this morning?" He asks compassionately.

"What I told my form tutor, but she won't believe me!" Em explain with a frustrated tone.

"As much as I would like to believe you two girls, I can't. Why would she tell me you were lying if you were actually telling the truth? I don't get it." He observes.

"She hates us, that's why." I moan back.

"How could she? Especially you Cathy, and your dangerous conditions." He pondered.

Many seconds in silence pass; slowly.

"I didn't mean that. I meant...I will have a word with her. I believe your 'theory girls. Congratulations, you convinced me!" He send us a cheesy smile and a his grin fills his face, like an immature teenager.

He stands up and walks out of his office.

Em leans over to me.

"We won the 'battle'!" She whispers in my ear.

"Lessons were so boring today. It seemed like fourth and fifth period were never going to end!" Em shouted as she ran across the corridor. "I know, stuck in hell for 2 hours!! I'm starving, let's go buy lunch." I suggest.

"Totally agree with you, bestie! Let's fill up these craving stomachs." She says excitedly and strokes her stomach. "I look pregnant though. Maybe it's better if I don't eat anything at all. Plus, I have no money."

"Stop blattering on and on about nothing. Let's go eat, I'll pay for you. Happy?"

"TOTALLy!!! My hunger is suddenly back, let's go."

"Where should we go? Should we buy it from school or outside?"

"Outside. Come on baby, let's act like proper Sixth Formers! Year 7s eat

at school!" Em stummers.

"Fine then." I competitively grin at her.

"There, over there! I see shelves piled with incredible amounts of food. Heaven for my gluttony."

"Don't let your greediness take over your body, let's eat a Greek salad, just across the street, instead."

"No way! I'm too hungry for that."

"But..But...Two minutes ago you said you looked pregnant and that you didn't want to eat anything!"

"Yeah, that was two minutes ago. Now it's different. Let's eat from that place." She moans as she points to the place filled with food.

"Oh, Emily! You are a disaster. What am I going to do with you??? Fine let's go eat there."

"Yipee! Thank you Cath, Love you!!!" She screams as she hugs me.

"Come on let's go before I change my mind."

We cross the road and walk into the bar.

"A burger with fries for me." Em tells the waiter. "Same." I say.

We have lunch and then head back to school. It's exactly 2:13 when we pass through the school gates, lessons start at 2:30. That leaves us with enough time to pack our bags, with the books we need for the next lessons, and walk to class.

Period 6 is Computing. I walk in and all the places are filled up, except from one. I walk over to the seat assuming it's mine and calmly sit down.

"Hi Cath." I hear.

I look around. Then just as my eyes are scrolling back to my computer screen I spot someone sitting next to me. I clear my eyes and stare at the person's face. It's John!

"Hi J." I say.

"How do you feel Cath?" He asks. My hearts starts beating really fast. I want to tell him I'm fine but I can't find the right words.

"I'm good. You?" I reply simply without making it too hard for me.

"Great. Computing is my favourite lesson, I can't wait to know what they are going to teach us. Although I bet I probably already learnt it in my extra computing classes after school." He smiles and grins.

I hesitate.

"Cool, I bet you are really good then."

"Kind of. What's your favourite subject?" He asks.

"Art. I love explaining my emotions by drawing. I used to have a diary, but then I stopped writing in it because there wasn't enough space to draw pictures to go with what I had written." I say spontaneously. I'm surprised I didn't even have to even think about what I was going to say. The words just jumped out of my mouth without my permission.

Computing, weirdly, passed really fast. I guess it's because me and J laughed so much. We laughed a lot mostly because of my rubbish attempts to copy what the teacher had built up on the screen. Each time the teacher passed by, my work was always perfect because he corrected it for me.
