the rain poured down on the small town. it was fitting for the mood that jonah frantzich was in on that faithful day.
he stood in front of the mirror adjusting his tie and straightening his suit. as if a ghost was standing there he heard the whisper of the wind.
you look so handsome.
he shivered in the empty room, no matter where he went it felt like corbyn was always with him.
jonah ran his hands through his hair willing himself to calm down, he couldn't do this otherwise.
a knock on the door pushed him out of his thoughts, there zach stood looking heartbroken.
"jonah you have to go down there, imagine what it will look like if you don't."
jonah sighed, what his friend said was true. so with that last little thought he left the room and traveled down the stairs.
outside he was offered an umbrella as he stood in the pouring rain. people gathered in clumps but everyone looked at him as he made his way to the front of the crowd.
"hello everyone, my name is jonah frantzich but you probably knew that already. i'm here today because corbyn was my best friend for so many years of my life. corbyn always looked on the bright side of things, no matter what. in fact his favorite song was 'mr brightside' because he loved the lyrics so much. when i left for minnesota i had no idea how much i would miss corbyn."
jonah paused looking out at the crowd of people. everyone here loved the blonde boy but no one quite as much as jonah.
"corbyn taught me the rights and wrongs of life. he always had me come back down from climbing the tree cause he was scared that i would fall. i never thought that it would be him that got hurt. i messed up so bad the day i decided to move. when i left corbyn here i left behind my heart. i never thought that living without him would be so hard but it's a struggle."
a loud sob interrupted jonah's speech as corbyn's mother wiped a tear from the side of her cheek.
"corbyn, i love you so goddamn much and i always will. you will always be the only person that i feel this way for. don't worry baby, we'll be together again one day. until then happy valentine's day."
jonah stepped away from the front and sat down in the seat they had left for him. it felt so wrong to be sitting there, at corbyn's funeral.
jonah had never felt worse in his life.
