The ship became rowdy as soon as the booze was brought out. Tankard, after tankard was emptied out by the second and the little cabin girl named (y/n), ran back and forth in the deck for the impatient men who were waiting for their refill. The poor girl was out of breath before the umpteenth man screamed at her for being so slow. She muttered another apology but it was futile as of the crewman lifted his enormous hand over her. She flinched and closed her eyes to await the impact, but it never arrived. The brute that was about to strike her popped a vein and was ready to pummel the person or thing that stopped him from committing the act, but quickly regarded that idea when he saw the displeased look of the captain.

"Just what do you think you're doing?" He asked bitterly.

The ferocious expression the man had before disappeared and he paled, "C-captain Kidd!" He stuttered. "I-I was about to..."

"About to what?" He asked abruptly, his grip tightened. The boisterous laughter had now silenced, no one dared to say anything. "Answer me," He ordered.

"I-I was just about to give her a pat on the back for all of her hard work she's done!" He let out a nervous chuckle and smiled pathetically.

(Y/n) was unamused as much as Kidd was at their excuse, but none the less she used the chance to slip away from her spot and hid underneath Kidd's heavy coat.

"Is that so?" He asked, "(Y/n), is that true?"

She thought for a moment. Sure he did boss her around and tried to slap her, and sure she would love nothing more than see his ass get thrown overboard, she would rather tell a lie and said that he did just in case that she wouldn't get beaten to death when the captain or anyone else wasn't around, so she nodded a yes.

Kid grunted before letting go of the man's arm, "If I see or hear anything about y'all hurting my little sister again I'll kill you, I'll kill you all." He turned around, grabbed (Y/n) and headed back inside. With his presence gone everyone was able to breathe and return back to what they were doing.

"What's the captain's deal with the girl?" One of them asked.

"Are you deaf? You heard him, that's his sister."

Another scoffed, "There's no way that puny little girl is Kidd's sister. She's too..."

"Small?"

"Weak?"

"Innocent?"

"Exactly! She's all of those things! So why in the Devil's name would captain let her join the crew?"

"Who knows? Maybe she lied about being his sister," one of them suggested.

"Yeah, maybe she's just doing this so that she could get special treatment."

"I wouldn't be surprised if she wanted to have sex with him!" They all laughed at the ideas but just like before it short lived when all of them got knocked in the head.

They all growled and turned around, "What was that for!" They screamed, but they quickly started to whimper when they saw the signature frown of Heat, one of Kid's higher-ups.

"I've been looking for you guys,"

"Y-you have, sir?" One of them stuttered.

"Yes, I have," he started slowly, "And now that I found you, I know who to kick out of the crew because they're slacking off! Get back to work dammit!"

"Yessir!" They shouted and scrambled away.

"And if I hear you bad mouthing (Y/n) there's going to be a torture cell with your name on it!" He sighed then looked at the doorway where Kidd had dragged you off.

"I wonder why she's acting like this..." He muttered.

"Hey Heat, I heard Kidd yelling again, who died this time?" The man turned to face Killer, his vice-captain A.K.A. Kidd's right-hand man.

"No one, (y/n) lied and saved the fool," Heat looked back at the doorway again.

"Hey, Killer?"

"Yeah?"

"Do you know what happened to (y/n)?"

"Who knows...I have to head back in the kitchen, I'll see you around," Heat hummed and managed to pry his eyes away from the door and walked away to what he was doing before.

'What happened to her after all this time...' He continued to wonder.
