"At least I get to meet you again." he said and smiled.
"The pleasure's mine. It was such great timing how you saw me leaving when I just finished talking to your brother. Because if I had already went back to the village, I wouldnt be seeing you again in a long time! I never even thought my parents would allow me to get back out of the house but, yeah whatever. Dad's always on my side and Mom's more of like the 'proper walking! Proper posture! Proper everything else! Learn this, learn that' type. It's making me sick! One time she was... " I blabbered about a lot of things and ranted about how it sucks to be the only child and being the daughter of the ruler, expecting him to listen as intently as possible but when I saw he only had his mouth wide open from shock, my voice trailed off.
"I never knew a Lady from the Cross family were able to speak like that. We were always taught that Ladies, daughters and relatives of great rulers never know how to rant and instead display a very feminine self. You're quite different, My Lady. It amazes me." He said as he still kept that mannerful way of talking, glanced my way and smiled.
"Oh.. Uhm.. We're human too, you know... We're kinda like the ordinary people except for the fact that we have power." I replied sheepishly, clearly embarassed of how I acted. We continued small talks as I feasted my eyes on the flowers growing everywhere. It was starting to get awkward, me and him being silent for almost more than 20 minutes, so I decided to start a topic first.
"So, what did you wanna talk about when you asked to meet me again?"
"I don't want to talk. I wanna show you something." he replied and he extended his hand, so I took it. He led me through a place full of flowers and we went in past it going down leaving all the sunshine and flowers behind and slowly entering into a dark, cold tunnel.
"Where are we going?" I said kind of alarmed. what if this guy takes me to their prison? I'm a Cross! And he's one of the people that my dad told me to stay away from ever since I was a kid. what if mom was right? what if we didn't need proof at all?
"You'll see." he said and he walked faster, our hands still together. The tunnel was really dark and it was amazing how he wasn't tripping at anything, while I almost stumbled upon everything I stepped on. We could see a little light from a distance and it made me lighten up. He wasn't bringing me to a prison!
"Where is this tunnel headed to?"
"So many questions! you'll see when we get there. Okay?" he said, smiling at me.
"Okay."
After a few more stumbles, I mean STEPS, we arrived in front of a big mansion. It was beautiful, the surrounding was filled with colorful flowers and there was a scent I always knew; daisies. It was obvious that nobody lived there anymore. Vines crawled on the large gates, hiding the grandeur it had inside.
"Follow me."
I thought he was gonna open the gate but instead, he went somewhere beside the gate and went in through a hole.
"Do you seriously expect me to get in that hole with my dress on?" I said.
"Why not? The hole is big enough. I'm sure you'll fit."
"The dress will have stains or be ruined! My mom won't let me out of the house again if I return like a kid who ran around town."
"Let me just open the gates then. I didn't want to spoil you but okaaay, since the dress is IMPORTANT."
He opened the gate and it revealed the front part of the house. It was gigantic. It had large glass windows and though the paint was already peeling off, the house still looked magnificent. I went in past the gate with giddy steps. This was a really bad thing to do. I didn't know who owned the house and I'm already getting inside. It somehow gave me a welcoming aura and it made me disregard all the rules that my father has made.
