The Party

HERC'S POV

We walked in the party, instantly greeted by a tipsy Angelica Schuyler.

"Herc! Nice to see you again! Welcome to my 23rd birthday party, your boyfriend is pretty by the way." She giggled and walked away before I could inform her that Laff and I weren't dating.

We walked further in and Laff grabbed my hand.

"I do not want to get separated." He explained, and I looked away quickly, hoping he wouldn't notice me blushing.

His hand was warm and soft, and it just so happened to fit perfectly in my hand.

"Herc! You came! It's been so long!" Said Peggy, hand in hand with her girlfriend, Maria.

"Hey, Pegs. Hey Mari. Yeah, I've been really busy with work lately. Being a fashion designer and sewing your own clothes is much harder that you would think." I joked.

She nodded understandingly. "Mari and I started a new bakery recently, and we've been searching everywhere for employees. I know how exhausting it can be."

Laff perked up. "A bakery? I work at a bakery right now, it is called le petit gâteau."

"Cool! Well if you ever decided to quit, we're called Rainbow Sprinkles." Winked Maria.

"Funnily enough, I was considering quitting. My boss always makes me bake, which I do enjoy, but she rarely lets me do the fun part, which is the decorating." He explained.

"Well, Mari and I mostly like the baking. I'm terrible at art, and she just doesn't like decorating very much. Maybe you could come by on Monday for a proper interview? Although, I'm sure you're a good person if Herc's dating you. For a pansexual, he's so picky." Peggy rambled.

I blushed. "Peggy, we aren't dating!"

I expected her to be embarrassed, but she just rolled her eyes. "Sure." She turned to Laff. "We'll see you on Monday! Here." She gave Laff a business card and then dragged Maria away.

"Sorry about my friends. They're very quick to assume I'm dating whoever I'm with at the moment." I chuckled.

"It is ok, Herc. We should go get something to drink." He led me over to bar before I cold agree.

"I will take a beer please." Said Laff as he sat down at the bar.

"Me too." I said, sitting next to Laff. I noticed that even though we were sitting, we were still holding hands. He didn't seem to want to let go, and I didn't either.

We drank for a while, actually quite a long while. Soon my vision was slightly blurry.

"Let's dance." giggled Laff. He was possibly even more drunk than me.

I let him lead me to the dance floor. We still hadn't stopped holding hands. We danced for hours, it seemed like until Laff yawned and leaned forward into my chest. My heart started beating faster, I hoped he didn't notice.

"Yo, Laff you ok?" I asked.

"I am so very tired, Hunkules." I laughed gently.

"I'll call an uber." I said, but he didn't get off of me. I carefully took my phone out of my pocket and got an uber. "I hope you don't mind coming back to my house, Laff."

He hummed quietly, and I took that as him not minding.

We took the uber home, and I vaguely thought about the fact that my car was still at Angie's house. Yes, her house had a bar, she's rich. When we got back I carried Laff upstairs bridal style. He wasn't asleep, but seemed too drunk to walk up the stairs.
