T/W: This chapter gets very dark, and talks about abuse, I'm reaaaaaly sorry.
HERCULES' POV
I immediately called Angelica.
"Hello?" She answered.
"Angie, he's not here." I sobbed.
"What?" She screeched.
"Laff is gone! No note, no nothing! I think this has something to do with Jefferson!" I began crying even harder.
"I'll be right there." She hung up.
I don't even remember what happened during the 20 minutes between when she hung up and when she got to my house. It was as if I had blacked the memory out, I was so devastated I didn't want to remember that time.
When she found me, I was curled up in a tight ball on the couch, sobbing.
"Hercules?" She gently put her hand on my back. "We're going to find him, I know Jefferson's address, that's the first place we'll look, ok?"
I got up and let her lead me outside to her car silently, still crying.
LAFAYETTE'S POV (going back to when Herc had just left)
I decided to watch a show I liked that was in French, since Hercules and I could never watch it together. I had just settled in with a pile of blankets and a bag of microwave popcorn when there was a knock on the door. I opened it to reveal Jefferson, smirking and smelling strongly of alcohol.
I tried to slam the door, but he held it open and walked inside before I could lock him out.
"Jefferson, what are you doing here?" I asked angrily.
He turned to me and grabbed my arm. "You know what I'm doing." He slurred, leaning in. I dodged him, smacking him with the arm he wasn't holding onto.
"I am dating Hercules!" I protested. He pulled me closer, and in that moment I felt like a helpless rag doll, powerless against Jefferson. I hated that feeling. I had felt that way for nearly 5 months when we had been dating.
"JEFFERSON!" I screamed loudly, hoping to get the attention of the neighbors.
"You're coming with me, babe." He laughed in my face. I tried to take my arms out of his grasp, but he was too strong.
He forced me down the street, we walked all the way back to his apartment in gently falling snow. I was sobbing. I didn't know what he was going to do, but whatever it was, I was dreading it.
We got back to his apartment and he kissed me for a moment before throwing me to the floor. He punched me a few times, I got in a couple kicks.
I fought back for a while, but I was losing blood and was just too weak compared to him. The room began spinning then everything faded into black.
HERCULES' POV
We drove as quickly as we could, but we got lost. We ended up going in circles, which was making me have a panic attack. As we drove, I called Alex and John who agreed to meet us there.
Finally, Angie and I parked outside of Jefferson's luxury apartment building at the same time as Alex and John and we ran to Jefferson's unit.
Angie knocked, and he opened the door. Alex, John, and I were hiding further down the hallway, because I assumed he'd let Angelica in if she was alone.
I heard a few crashes and some screaming and we all ran inside. I saw Laff unconscious in a small pool of blood, and Angelica laying on the floor next to him as Jefferson showered her with punches. I ran up to him and punched him in the face, knocking him to the floor. I pinned him down as Alexander called the police and John called an ambulance.
It all happened in a blur, suddenly Jefferson was in handcuffs and Laff and Angie were on stretchers, then Alex, John, and I were driving to the hospital, then we were sitting in the waiting room, then we were receiving the worst news I'd ever received in my life.
Laff might not make it.
