( funny how the insane... )
SHE HAD A BRILLIANT MIND, presumably much more marvelous than her own father which was saying quite a lot because he was probably the smartest man she knew. She was beautiful too, no doubt a trait she got from her supermodel technician of a mother. Though some took it highly for granted, women and men alike taking her looks and smarts to put themselves out there on the tabloids. By now, she could indicate a fake from a mile away. She was smart, incredibly paranoid when it came to relationships because she knew that most of them were formed not on good intentions. That's probably why her last relationship lasted three weeks, ended with a bruised eye for her former partner and tears on her part. That was in the twelve grade.
Now years later, her life took a drastic drift. Not many people thought that she was capable of greatness like her father. People referred to her fathers side of the family; they preferred male children in their family above all else and were beyond disappointed when Anya Collins-now Mo- gave birth to a beautiful baby daughter. She couldn't carry the legacy and the family name; she was not an heir to the family thrown. And so, her father had purposely taken himself and their little family away from his large one. It was for the best on his part and he never once regretted it. Only Jung Mo and his wife knew the full extent of her abilities and knew she was worthy of anything and everything. He would insure that she carried his legacy when he passed on. That fateful day arrived sooner than anticipated.
Elaine was meant to be in the Laboratory for Young Intelligent Minds that tragic night ten years ago. The laboratory for young prodigies her father created just for her and every other young sharp mind he could recruit was meant to be empty too. She was meant to meet both her parents that evening at the attempt of showing them both her new invention that could revolutionize the way people communicated and could change the world, she had hoped. That had all changed because she was stupidly running late to the gathering she had put together. If she had only arrived there ten minutes earlier, maybe she could have saved her parents, maybe she could have died alongside them which was way better than the void she felt every waking day ,or perhaps she could have stopped whatever had caused the explosion that ruined her life (the fire department stated it was faulty equipment and she knew for a fact that was a lie but there was nothing she could have done, the whole building had been labeled a danger and demolished a week later.).
She never felt such pain and loss ever and before she could crumple and shriveled up into her pain and suffering, Harrison Wells had been the one to save her. He picked up the broken pieces the death of her parents left behind and put a smile back on her face when she thought she couldn't anymore. In a way they had helped each other, while he still grieved for the loss of his love Tess Morgan, a woman she had known for less than a year, she grieved for her parents. There was no way he could have replaced the love she still had for her parents and she the same for Tess but he had been able to fill half of the void and she had been able to do the same. That was enough. Her career continued to flourish under the watchful eyes of her mentor and father figure; everything had almost been perfect from there on out. Almost.
She alongside dozens of scientists, engineers and technicians had assisted him in creating the world would come to know as the greatest scientific achievement and failure of all time: the Particle Accelerator. Harrison introduced her to her best friend, introduced her to her other friends she soon called family and she made her first frenemy in the walls of the laboratory there too. Life seemed too great and rewarding and she knew at some point the scales of life would have to balance the good with the bad. But she hardly thought of that until the day it finally happened.
Once again, life had taken her by the hand and guided her through a roller coaster of absolute happiness. She should have known it would have been short lived because once again, it seemed as if some superior force had other plans and would rather once again ruin her life than give her the full extent of joy.
Harrison was secretive, there was no doubt about it but she didn't think that he would do something so far fetched that he would risk the lives of thousands living in the city. He wanted so badly to create something that would save the world and would take any measures to ensure that the machine they built would go on that night. Her attempt to shut down the machine she had helped design and build had failed and soon, her once beloved city of central city had loathed her. Her perfect life ripped out of the palms of her hands by the father figure that betrayed her in the worst way possible and the once beloved genius had turned into a mental nut case and was locked up in the psyche ward of Central City Hospital. All because everyone has listened and believed the words of Harrison Wells when he had stated that the woman whom he saw as a daughter had finally snapped and was doing what he thought was right. He said he had loved her at some point, but that was not love.
She had thought she would eventually decay in her cell block but was later rescued by the same man who had been fired alongside herself not so long ago. A duo now to be reckoned with and hell bent on revenge on the man and the once before father figure that caused her imprisonment.
The constant of a once again perfect life and disastrous one would come to play. And this time, she wasn't sure she would survive it.
