"Let's go on an adventure. We can get bus passes and just ride around town." I smiled at the thought of spending all day with him. "Deal." I responded as we walked towards the bus stop. I tried to buy my own ticket, but he insisted on paying for me. We hurriedly walked to the back of the bus and sat down on the left side. I looked to my right and saw a young girl who looked about 4 or 5. By her side, I saw an older woman who looked about 35. I assumed was her mother. She held on tightly to the young girl's wrist. I made sudden eye contact with the little girl and I realized she had tears in her eyes. I immediately remembered my mom and the way she would hold my hand so tight it would become numb. Tears welled in my eyes, but I pushed them away. No. I'm not going to think about her. The thoughts of her should not ruin my day. "Are you okay?" Kaden asked me looking concered. "Oh! Yeah! I'm fine, I just had something in my eye." I chuckled nervously and I think he realized I wanted to drop the subject, because he slightly smiled and looked out the window. I can't tell him about her. Not yet anyway.
