I called my best friend Charlie for a ride. "Hey Charlie can you come and pick me up from...umm. The Night and Day hotel?" I asked her politely. "Sure! But only if you buy me donuts next Monday!!" I laughed quietly. "Deal." I responded. "I'll be there soon!" She said before she hung up. I walked back towards the hotel and sat on the bench out front. I looked around and took everything in. The sky was dark with clouds everywhere. There were puddles on the floor and the streets were slightly flooded. Trees had no leaves yet to me they still had a sense of beauty. I could even see some birds flying through the sky. Charlie pulled up in front of the hotel in her convertible smiling at me brightly. Her red hair making me smile. I hopped in the passenger seat and she turned on the radio. She lowered the volume and put the car into drive. "Thanks for picking me up, Charlie! You're like the sister I never wanted." She stuck her tongue out at me and laughed. We were singing and I dancing to the music. Our hands in the air. "Keep your hands on the wheel you crazy lady!" I yelled at her and we laughed. Like really hard like shut your eyes hard. I guess that could be why we didn't see the red light. Or the truck in front of us.
