So here was the problem: Laila Bjorgman might have forgotten to set her alarm so that she would be able to wake up in time for the arrival of the four kids from the Isle of the Lost. And to top it off, just like every day, she had to feed her dog, Isak, except today she just so happened to have run out of food. This resulted in her having to hurriedly ride her bicycle down to the pet store in town to buy dog food. That made her even more late.

This raised another problem: she wasn't really supposed to have Isak on school grounds, since it was forbidden (Apparently the only animal that was allowed was the campus mutt, Dude. But, whatever. Laila wasn't just going to give Isak away). This meant that her excuse couldn't be, "I was late because my dog needed food and I had to go buy some," and rather, "I was late because I forgot to set my alarm and so therefore I slept in." The latter statement, in her opinion, sounded much less professional. Thankfully, Isak was still only a puppy, and could fit comfortably into her backpack (Don't worry— the zip was always open a little so that he could breathe), which was what he was doing now as Laila rode her bike back to school- so at least for now, he could be hidden.

As Laila rode up the gradually inclining hill, getting closer and closer to the school, she spotted a long, black limousine. In front of the expensive car stood Prince Ben, Audrey, Fairy Godmother, and the four Isle of the Lost kids (She was fairly sure that their names were Mal, Jay, Carlos ... and Eva? She couldn't remember exactly). Around them was the school's band, and a many other students from Auradon Prep. I'm so late, thought Laila, however she didn't feel much worry. She was often late, so it didn't bother her as much as it bothered Fairy Godmother.
