As Sofia Stark descended into the chaos that was Stark Expo , like a 'normal person' the first thing she saw was skimpy girls , wearing red bikini and a shining disk of light on their chest.
"Whose brilliant idea could it be?" She wondered.
Luckily, she reached the expo right on time, to hear her father.
"I'm not saying that the world is enjoying it's longest period of uninterrupted peace in years because of me."
Sofia rolled her eyes at her father. He was known to be a bit self centric.
"I'm not saying that from the ashes of captivity never has a greater phoenix metaphor been personified in human history."
Sure , take all the credit. She thought, her mind flashing back to those four months she endured with her father , back in Afghanistan.
"I'm not saying, that Uncle Sam can kick back on a lawn chair , sipping on an iced tea, because I haven't come across anyone who's man enough to go toe - to - toe with me on my best day!"
Again, bringing me to the question of my biological dad's family, who apparently don't exist or forgot about me.
"Please it's not about me. It's . . . not about you. It's not even about us. It's about . . . legacy. It's about what we choise to leave behind for future generations. And that's why for the next year and for the first time since 1974, the best and brightest men and women ― including my daughter ― of nations and corporations of the world over will pool their resources ,share their collective vision, to leave behind a brighter future.
It's not about us!
Therefore what I'm saying, if I'm saying anything, is welcome back to the Stark Expo! And now, making a special guest appearance from the great beyond to tell you what it's all about, please welcome, my father Howard. "
As soon as he finished his speech and let Howard Stark come in, Sofia couldn't help but glance at her deceased grandfather. She didn't have many memories with him , or with her biological parents and grandmother, but the lingering sense of safety and comfort was always there. With all the four people.
Then the ever present question remained . If Tony hadn't taken her in, who would have? She had no idea about her Dad's side of the family, and whenever she asked Tony he would always have a sour face and then deflected the question.
She soon shook away her thoughts and started looking for her father. She saw him leaned over a counter for a second, but then he sprang back up and smiled as if everything was perfect. Sofia's eyebrows pinched together a bit , but she let it go, when she saw him coming to her.
"Hey buddy, ready to go?" He said to her as he gave her a side hug.
"Ready as you are dad." She smiled and went along with him.
Happy took the coat Tony threw at him, as he tried to shield Sofia.
"All right. It's a zoo out there, watch out."
With that they were out.
Tons of people shouting, trying to touch Tony or Sofia, while both of them waved and smiled, seemingly not affected by the extreme light and shrieking.
"Thank you, I remember you."
"Tony! Sofia!"
A woman threw a napkin at Sofia, getting real close to her and whispered , "Call me."
