Can we acknowledge the fact that Snape tried to murder a pet? Yes, Snape was part of a terrorist organization and obsessive over a woman, but he also tried to murder a child's pet for NO REASON. Murder a child's PET. That's not okay, that's not humorous. Neville was an insecure little boy who had a pet toad, and Snape thought that it would be great to murder his pet on a whim, just to be mean. If Trevor had been murdered, it would have absolutely crushed Neville, and to make things worse, Snape tried to set it up like Neville's failure was the reason why Trevor died. There is no excuse for murdering people's pets.
