You know who's a hero? Harry freaking Potter, who always did the right thing, no matter what. The rivalry between Snape and James was described to be similar to the that of Draco and Harry. In both cases, they bullied each other. But when Harry and Draco became adults, Draco was facing life in Azkaban for being a death eater, Harry prevented it. Why? Because he sympathized with him. Because it was the decent thing to do.

Snape didn't spy on Voldemort because it was the right thing to do. He did it because he was mad at Voldemort for killing Lily. He did his best to protect Harry because he didn't want Lily's death to be in vain. Maybe he was hoping for her forgiveness.

Snape was not a hero by any means.

But you can not be a hero, and still be a decent human being.

Severus Snape was neither, and this thread proves it.

I'm not expecting him to be a perfect little angel. If he wants to hate Remus and Sirius, then by all means, hate them.

But there is a HUGE fucking difference, between holding resentment towards your childhood bully, and trying to ruin their lives/ get their souls sucked out of their bodies.

At the very least, he didn't give a flying fuck about all those innocent werewolves' lives that he ruined.

Why would he? He didn't even know them, right?
