Kali was in the back of the truck with the chickens when they arrived on Grandpa Charles farm, just a few blocks down from Emily's house.

Everyone piled out of the truck, when Ears started sniffing around the area, catching a whiff of something and started barking. Coming back over to Charles and yanked at his paint leg, trying to tell him something.

"Hey, hey, hold your horses, Ears!" Charles told his dog.

Ears then headed towards the barn and barked to the others again before heading inside.

"What's gotten into him?" Rocky asked. All the other chickens just shrugged their shoulders in reply.

"Reckon I'd best see what's going on inside the barn" Charles said.

"Good idea" Kali nodded.

"You wanna come and give me a hand?" Charles asked Billy.

But Billy was too scared if Charles even mentioned about going inside that barn and ran back towards the house. Kali and the chickens frowned as they watched the poor boy leave.

"That's okay, son!" Charles called out to his grandson. "I'll be back in a minute to tuck you in!"

Charles, Kali, and the chickens then came inside the barn to investigate what was going on.

"What's all the commotion here?" Charles asked his animals.

Ginger and her flock came in, all curious as they looked around the barn, quickly spotting some other chickens and a barn owl.

All the other animals of the barn were gathered around one stall where it seemed to be that's where the most activity was happening. The chickens pushed their way through the crowd of other barn animals and up into the stall, where they saw a female cow laying down, getting some much needed rest after something wonderful had happened.

"Hello" Ginger and her flock smiled as they greeted the cow.

"Hello" the female cow with a star shaped mark on her head smiled back at her visitors.

The chickens looked to see that the cow had something else laying besides her... Or should we say, a miniature someone else of the same species.

"Let me in, guys" Charles told his animals as he pushed his way through and into the stall, Kali right behind him.

Everyone looked to see a brand new baby cow next to the bigger cow.

"Awwww!" Kali and the chickens all cooed once they looked to see how cute the little female calf was.

"Well, would you just look at that!" Kali smiled as the female calf stood up and came over to Grandpa Charles.

"Looks like you got your Christmas present real early, Star" Charles told his cow while he looked at the calf. "Well, she's a real beaut!"

The proud mother cow, Star, mooed in agreement.

Kali and the chickens soon found a place for them to settle in for the night, up in the hayloft.

Charles, Kali, and the chickens soon noticed a small hole in the side of the wall of Star's stall, blowing cold air in.

"Oh shucks, missed a spot! Can't have you two catching a chill now, can we?" Charles told the mother and calf, then hammered another plank of wood up to block the hole.

"Yeah, I can patch up this old barn... but I can't seem to patch up Billy" Charles sighed once he finished.

Kali, the chickens, and all the other animals frowned to that.
