Ginger, Rocky, and Annabelle's Wish

Chapter 6

The next morning, Christmas day came, and Brewster came out to give his annoying crow again. 

By the time the adventure kids arrived over at Grandpa Baker's house, they were just in time for a shocking surprise as Billy was talking again! After he had opened a Christmas present with magic dust inside it from Santa Claus. 

The chickens watched through the window while seeing the kids and Grandpa Baker especially being overjoyed that Billy was talking again. Grandpa even cried tears of joy, saying this was the best Christmas present he ever heard. 

The adventure kids and chickens smiled to the grandfather and grandson, being very happy for them. Agnes was shocked that her plans to take Billy away were foiled, Charles even tore up the court order. 

"Come on, everyone" Billy smiled to his friends. "Let's go surprise Annabelle!"

"Yeah!" the adventure kids agreed, smiling excitedly. 

Minutes later, the kids came out to the barn where they were greeted by the chickens and other farm animals. 

"Hi, Billy!" The chickens came up to the not mute boy anymore. "Merry Christmas!"

"Hi, guys" Billy greeted the flightless birds. "I can talk again!" 

"We can see that" Ginger smiled up at him. 

"And we're so happy for you, kid" Rocky added. 

Billy and the others then ran over to Annabelle's stall. 

"Annabelle, I can talk!"

Billy came up to the little calf who was being quiet. "Annabelle, say something" 

Billy then leaned into Annabelle's ear and whispered. "It's Christmas. I know you can talk"

But poor Annabelle only mooed in reply. 

Billy gasped. "What's wrong with her? Is she sick?" he asked, worried for Annabelle.  

"No... It's not that" the adventure kids and chickens replied, knowing from what happened last night with Annabelle's wish to Santa. 

"Annabelle's just fine, Billy" Star spoke up, explaining. "You see, she gave her Christmas voice to you. She'll never talk again"

Annabelle nodded in reply. 

"But what about your dream to fly?" Billy asked Annabelle. "That was gonna be your wish"

"No, Billy. To hear you talk..." Ginger restated. "That was Annabelle's wish"

"Oh, Annabelle" Billy hugged the little calf, knowing that she was a real friend. 

The gang was sad that Annabelle would never talk again, but knew this was her true wish.

"There is however, might still be a way for Annabelle to talk again" Kali stepped up. 

Everyone turned to Kali in silence, wondering what she was planing.  

The adventure girl had been practicing with Albert on a new power of her magic crystal and was going to give it a shot. 

Everyone stood back while the crystal soon glowed, which made Kali's hands glow and she touched Annabelle. There was a huge bright flash as everyone had to shield their eyes, then it was gone as the magic from the crystal had stopped. 

Everyone watched anxiously and waited as all eyes were on Annabelle now when Billy came up to her. 

"Annabelle?..."

Everyone hoped and waited when suddenly, Annabelle spoke!

"Hi, Billy" she smiled to her best friend.
