Another year had flown by fast, as Christmas was on it's way. The adventure kids and chickens had come back to Twobridge to spend Christmas with Billy, Emily, and Annabelle again.

The animals were waiting by the bus stop for their kids to get out of school when the bus pulled up in front of them. The kids all got off the bus and happily ran over to hug their animal companions.

Grandpa was right. Over that year, Annabelle, Billy, Emily, and the gang couldn't be pulled apart.

The kids and animals started to walk home together, when the Holder boys appeared to bully them.

"Don't these jerks just ever stop?" Nobby muttered to the rest of the chickens.

"How come you only hang out with these clowns?" Buster scoffed Billy, referring to Emily and the adventure kids.

"And dumb animals!" Bucky added, pushing Billy down into the snow.

"Huh, Billy? How come?" The Holder boys asked him.

"Why don't you leave him alone?!" Emily, Kali, and Teeders glared to the Holder boys.

"Yeah, pick on somebody your own sizes!" The twins added while glaring.

"Why don't you let Billy stick up for himself?" Bucky said. "Oh, I forgot. He can't talk"

"You're just jealous cause you don't have any friends!" Emily told the Holder boys.

"Stay out of this, Emily!" Buster pushed her to the ground next to Billy and the Holder boys laughed at them.

"Alright, that's it!" Rocky growled.

"I've just about had enough with these dirtbags!" Bunty muttered to the other chickens, while all their feathers started ruffling up.

But before the chickens could do anything, Annabelle charged at the Holder boys, knocking them hard into the snow. The kids and their animal companions then decided to leave. Talking just wasn't required for the kind of friendship they had.

"Way to go, Annabelle!" The chickens said to the little calf.

"Thanks, guys" Annabelle smiled back down to her friends. "Those guys are mean"

"What did she say?" Emily asked Kali about Annabelle, since half of the time she wanted to know what the animals were saying since she couldn't understand them like the adventure kids did.

"She said that the Holder boys are mean" The tomboy with the yellow bandanna who could talk to animals replied.

Emily then groaned. "Tell me about it"

"Yeah, they deserved that!" Ricky said, referring to Annabelle knocking them into the snow.

The kids came back to Grandpa Baker's farm and hung out in the barn with their animal companions.

You know the trouble with patience is when you're waiting for something to happen, time just seems to slow down. But wishes are worth waiting for, no matter how long it takes... or what gets in your way.

The gang was together in the barn, when they heard a car honk and came outside to see a familiar pink automobile pull up in front of the house.

"Oh, no! Not her again!" Etta said as the gang saw Agnes come out.

"What are you up to now, Agnes?" Charles asked, placing his hands on his hips.

"I've come to take William and I have no time to dawdle" Agnes replied, showing him a court sighed paper from the judge. "This court order gives me legal custody of William"
